Im not sure if thats what they are called or if they are a penny....
I thought it would be something fun to do with my grandchildren.
Do they have them in the Parks?

Im so excited for my first trip to DL!

I believe you can also pick up a pressed penny "brochure" at City Hall with locations listed (at least you could during the 60th celebration). There is also an app called "penny finder" that can help when you're mobile.

The Disneyland website map also shows the locations (although not the designs) of penny press machines.

In addition to pressed pennies, they also have machines the press nickels and quarters! There are also machines that sell pre-pressed coins (e.g., the ones in Tomorrowland's Star Traders), which don't seem to be as much fun and more expensive.

Lastly, they even sell books to put your pressed coins in. This was the design available in December.

The nice thing about the info link Diszona posted, is it tells you which type of presses (Penny, Nickle, Dime or Quarter) are available at the various locations.

The penny presses are fun for the kids.
My grandkids have had fun collecting them from all over the USA.

Keeping the pennies and quarters in a Ziploc bag didn't work too well. So I switched over to the tall skinny prescription bottles.
The coins stack in nicely, 2 quarters and a penny, repeat until full.
I like to use the OLDER pennies. I think they make a better pressed penny. The new pennies don't seem as sturdy once pressed.
The older pennies generally need to be tidied up, so I get them clean and some-what shinny by washing them before we go.

How soon is your trip?

I like the design of this book, I hope it is still there on our next trip!

I just downloaded an app called Pressed Coins at Disneyland for android that is great. It has pictures of all of the machines and pennies. Plus it has everything separated by land and park. I cant wait to use it on my upcoming trip.

We have also used tubes from M&M minis or from Airborne.

Also, I completely forgot even on our most recent visit, if you look at the Shops section on the Disneyland app, you can select a shop to learn more about it, including whether there is a pressed penny machine there.

The book looks great I'll be sure to purchase one!
My 3 yo grandson will love this
Tomorrow is the start of our trip.
I'm rediculously excited!

City hall no longer offers the pressed coin map. They said it was for the 60th anniversary only. I found this to be the most up to date map, which includes the moana machine, and the most useful because of the descriptions.

I didn't try the app that pp mentioned but would have loved to.
One of the CM advised if you search on the Disneyland app "pressed coin machine" then click on "map", it will show you shop locations where there are pressed coin machines. It gives no other info, such as name of the shop or description so I didn't use it.
Noting our favorites:
Moana themed coins in adventureland bazaar
Buzz themed coins in the buzz light year gift shop
Star Wars themed coins in star trader gift shop
Frozen theme in studio store near the Olaf meet and greet in DCA (presses dimes so they are silver)
I thought it was fun for our two year old when he couldn't go on a ride due to the height restriction. Our 5 yo liked it too and insisted we go to city hall to get the pressed pennies map (which they didn't have!).

The one that I know that's rather hidden/hard to find is in a back corner of a shop called Pieces of Eight. It's to the right of the POTC exit (as you leave the ride. To the left if you're looking at the exit). I believe it's a quarter press. I suspect that one gets the least use -- and therefore the resulting coin may perhaps be more desirable -- because it's virtually hidden. It's in the back adjacent the window that looks out onto the POTC exit ramp. Hope this helps :-).

I love this one! We have some way cool coins from it and yes, they do look amazing :)
