I believe I read somewhere about being able to press your own pennies. What's it all about? Can you take your own pennies and press them with a WD stamp?

all over WDW and have all defferent designs you just have to keep an eye out for theme once you see one you will know what they look like. We enjoy the pressed pennies as they are lower priced soveniers (cost is two quarters plus the penny that is pressed also use pre '82 pennies for the best looks as they are all copper.
Do a search on pressed penies for a lot of info on the subject.

Thanks for the reply.
What a great idea!
It could get very expensive if you wanted to try and collect them all!:D

Yes Country Duck it can get very expensive.

I always take a roll of Quarters and a roll of pennies per child. On our last trip, my neice (7) was hooked on collecting them. (they sell pressed pennie collector books at the gift shops with slots for the pennies and a few for the pressed quarters that they have machines for as well.) We ended up filling two books for her and she loves them. (She takes her books out and shows everyone!)
At $.51 a pop for the pennies and $1.25 a pop for the quarters the collection can get pricy if you don't set aside the change before hand.

We were there in October and my kids (DS-11 and DD-9) liked searching for the pressed pennies machines more than looking for the characters and getting autographs-we quickly stopped that. Most of the machines seemed to be in the gift shops after you've gotten off a ride. Collecting the different designs can be a bit pricey, but it's still cheaper than most of the other souvenirs. And it's great to have a souvenir from each ride. Have a great time!

I wonder if you take a roll of brand new pennies would that work as well as older pennies? I think this is a great idea. Our kids will love trying to find the machines.

Is there any other great ideas that a first timer would not know about? :D
