What exactly does a penny press do. Is it just for looks or does it make a penny. Any explanations would be appreciated. (a picture of what it does would be even better) TIA :goodvibes

a penny press is a very funny VMK item there are many people who say lots of things about what comes from the penny press i say its a cookie i have heard its a penny and a hamburger :lmao:

kids pretend its candy :)

it doesnt really do anything, its just soemthing to click on :)

How disappointing :sad2: For the price it should do something cool. You could pay credits to use it, and it gives different ones just like in the real parks. Just a thought.

when you click on it it gives you something which you seem to be eating - so its either a cookie or chocolate

It's a chocolate penny like the gold foil covered coins we use to eat when we were kids, but since its straight out of the machine, no need for the foil.

Since it gives out food (chocolate!) it is just a nice thing to have in your rooms along with the "fish water" for guests :rotfl2:

Just thought i'd add that there are five types of peeny presser.

The green one relatively cheap in the Emporium.
The blue, purple and gold ones which are rare and retired.
The red on which is available when you purchase candy at the Pooh Corner Honey Spot in Critter Country (DLR) or in Adventureland beside Pecos Bills (WDW).

Way back in the day when they still had the VMK tour in the parks, my tour guide said that they were indeed chocolate pennies.

While we're on the subject of the different types of presses, does anybody know the rarest one? And how were the blue and purple ones obtained? Were they buyable earlier in the game or something?

They were sold I believe in December '05 please correct me if i'm wrong and were also in a Thursday night HOST_ quest sometime last year.

The blue and purple you could just buy them, not sure how long they were available but I seem to have quite a few so I cant imagine they are very rare. Never really thought about it much... Anyone else remember when they went?

I remember the blue and purple were available before New Years 06. They were in the Emporium from at least September (when I started) to December 05 for 800 credits each. When they took away all of the holiday items is when they took away the penny presses.

The same is true for the purple and blue turnstiles, green and blue scoreboards and the green number generator.

Red items other than penny press were, I believe, either beta or retired until the holidays that year and then disappeared with the holiday furniture.

I also believe that almost all items (except red items and generators) were available in quests late last year.

Can you still get the red one buying candy at Pooh Corner?
No hardship for me to do that! :rolleyes1

I "think" you can, try asking someone that has recently been to DLR. If it is you may have to ask the person working to register to give the card because they don't just hand them out.
