Penny Press @ DisneyLand?

[Disney Mama 2 Two]

I was just wondering if the Penny Press machines are at DL like at WDW. On our first Disney trip to WDW this past June this was a favorite for my two little ones...collecting all the different coins.

If there are machines, does anyone know where there is a list of stations?

Yes, bring lots of quarters and shiny pennies, because there are penny press machines everywhere (and a couple of machines for other coin denominations).

There's a cool website called www.parkpennies.com (or www.pressedpennies.com, either will work) which may help you. Also, there is a sticky thread at the top of this board called "Disneyland Resort FAQs-Current Upcoming Events..." This thread has a link to the location of the 51 Magical memories pennies released this year.

Disneyland is actually doing the 50 year penny press promo.

There are 50 different designs, one for each year the park was opened. They have ramped up the number of coin presses, so there is one in nearly half the shops.

You may be able to get a list, but I can tell you that the ones you may pass by are the ones in Pieces of 8, the store outside of pirates.

It has my favorite press. *VIDEOPOLIS*

There are still the classic coin presses too...just not as many as usually present.

My kids and I enjoyed making several when we were last in DL. There are a couple machines in the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street, and we found a couple machines in DC in the shop across the way from Ariel's Grotto. I'm sure there are many more, and we plan on searching them out when we go back in November! :thewave:

In the past I have asked CM's in the Emporium for a list of the locations and they had a book they actually made copies for me out of! It's worth asking!

Go to City Hall and ask for the list. You can buy rolls of quarters and pennies there if you don't want to travel with rolls of coins. We also saw the list in a acrylic frame attached to the side of a machine in the penny arcade on Main Street, and the CMs in the shop in Frontierland had copies of the list.

There are the special pennies, one for every year since the park opened that are pressed on both sides and feature an event from each year. To get all 50 you will need to go into both DL and CA and also sites in DTD and the DLH. On our last trip we got all of them except the three at the DLH. If you are only collecting the Magical Memories pennies LOOK AT THE MACHINES BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR MONEY IN. Most sites have several machines and I inadverently put money in wrong machines in the stores in Adventureland and Frontierland.

There are plenty of other presses penny machines and also a few pressed quarter machines. Have fun!

Thank you all so much, I think this is a really neat feature of the vacation and my ds & dd enjoyed it so much at WDW. We actually went to a water park a couple months ago and they had a machine too and the kids were so surprised...thought this was just a Disney thing!

Disney also sells pressed penny collection books for storing your pressed pennies. You can find these in many of the stores. There is a new book to celebrate the Magical Milestones which can hold 52 pressed pennies, and six pressed quarters. The Magical Milestone pennies are especially cool in that they have "Magical Milestones" pressed on the back side. You will find severasl different machines at the Penny Arcade on Main Street.
