Penny Jar- Kids Spending Money

The penny jar had $93 in it. Plan to divide between 2 DD's, for spending money. It feels like it is free.

WOW!! That is so great. We just started ours. My kids love to save the coins. We play a little game with it. We save quarters in the pringles can (I read about it on this board) and we have almost 2 filled!! My kids are saving dimes for CRT. They are having fun and my DS3 has learned the differance from all the coins. (and yes my DH thinks I am )

We did a slight variation of this...we use an empty water cooler bottle....dumped any and all change in for two years....we had about $575.00 !!

Of course, the older two boys immediately started calculating what their HALF would be.... I had to explain that it was ALL of ours

Oh I forgot that one. All pennies and nickles go into our 5 gal bottle. All this planning helps keep my mind off the anticipation for WDW. Go figure

We had been saving for about a year. Whenever DH and I got pennies in they went. We also had a change jar on our nightstand and it had about $35 in quarters, dimes etc. We leave in 3 weeks and it was time to add it all up.

I emptied a big baby bottle bank last christmas and it had about 83.00 in it last xmas. It turned into a nice last minute gift for my oldest DS. It was about half full when i emptied it. My goal is to have it full for when we go to WDW soon. Cant wait to count that money lol!

I unearthed two quart jars of pennies when I cleaned out an unused bedroom today...anyone have a ballpark figure of how many pennies there are in a quart?
