typical. an electrical fire on the tracks. ho-hum. yet another stupid delay. been there, done that, and usually on a Friday, too.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I don't commute any more!

Lot's of wives at the Chinese take out tonight because their DH's were still stuck in good old Penn, killing their Valentine's Day plans.

Oh well, it could be worse.

2 hours for what usually is a one hour trip. subway to Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn. train to Jamaica Station. train to Hickville. wait 1/2 hour for the Ronkonkoma train. oy.

I remember visiting Penn Station while I was in NYC. What I remember the most was some homeless people asking me for change and some guy at the entrance selling knives for $1. The police kept on running them out of the station.

a friend of mine who was in Penn when it reopened last night told me that the cops and National Guad personnel were decked out in flak jackets, heavy duty weapons, etc. She said she was used to seeing this kind of protection in Hebron but not in NYC and it threw her for a loop.
