Hi All

First time to Sea World in the End of Aug. My Daughter is 10 and is Autistic, and Loves all all she talks about, cares about is BIRDS. Peguins are her favorite.

So I was thinking of the Peguin tour, for me and her. I know its about a hour, and 30 for the 2 of us.

Is it worth the time? What exactly is it?

Any other bird encounters she might be able to get?
I know most kids, Dolphins, whales,
For my DD its Birds.

Tips? Suggestions? Photos?

i read on other threads here, that its not worth it, ur get rushed when its comes to the pengiun.

Hi the tour lasts about an hour, u meet outside the gift shop at the polar exhibit, u get to see the polar bears, seals, beluga whales, plus the toys they use to train the animals, the penguin is at the end of the tour and is well worth it, u come out at the funfair type stalls at the end of the tour

She will get to pet a penguin and while waiting your turn and waiting for everyone else to finish up, there are other penguins in the room that she can watch. Plus you will be able to take a picture of her petting the penguin, something she will always be able to look at to remember the experience. I think it's well worth it just for that.

Definitely do it, when else will she get to touch a penguin?

We are thinking about doing this in Nov. and wonder what else you do other than just pet a penguin??:lmao: :rotfl: Would love some detailed reviews! Or, any pictures??? thanks!:thumbsup2

I would call and speak to guest services there and make sure that it's an environment that you are going to feel comfortable putting your child into. It's backstage stuff, so it's not going to be sparkly pretty. Some of it might be rather icky looking, smelly, noisy, hot, or some other sensory bombardment that your child might not handle well. There might be something that could be worked out for your child outside of the standard tour given your situation. It never hurts to ask. Maggie

Are you doing Discovery Cove? They have an aviary there where birds land on you, and you can feed them, etc...

It might be worth paying for Non-Dolphin Swim Tickets :D

Is waiting for another trip.

Maybe we will plan a mom and daughter trip to do that, I know she would LOVE that.

She is also Planning for her 16th Birthday a Cruise to Alaska

And when she is 20 we are going to South Africa to Go to see the Great White Sharks that Fly in the air (its shark week on TV)

Yes My daughter has Lots of plans for us.
I better start saving now.

She was so excited the other day about a owl story they read at school the other day, she had to bring in her Bird (one of many) Books to show all about the different Owls.

Gotta Love that Kid.
