Has this happened to anyone else? While we were at WDW, my DS pee'd through his diaper and wet his pants CONSTANTLY! This VERY, VERY RARELY happens at home. I changed him twice as much as a do at home and it still kept happening no matter WHAT I did! Do you think it could've been nerves or something? He LOVED WDW from what I could see (he's 1). Any insight? THANKS!

I imagine the little love was so excited by everything around him that he just got distracted and couldn't be bothered with all that toilet nonsense when there was so much else to see and do. Don't worry about it. 1 is still pretty early to get completely dry, if you let him see its an issue he'll get stressed about it.

We have had this happen before. We just get the next size diaper and try to monitor what they are drinking a little closer. We also stopped more often if we thought they needed it.

Just to clarify... my son just turned 1 during this trip. He's not potty trained. We even tried diaper doublers! He drank less than he normally does at home too. Very strange. It has to be the excitement or nerves, huh? Weird.

Yes, it happened to my DS when we were just past the training stage. I chalked it up to excitement.
We would be fine and in the midst of a que line, wham - had to go BAD :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2:

BUT looking at your DS's age, it made me remember way back when with my boys, when they first started to walk (same age as yours) and were upright more, I noticed that they seemed go with more volume and we had more accidents :scratchin

Were you carrying him more or was he sitting different ? It sound to me like more of a how do I say this....something wasn't angled correctly in the diaper and the fluid escaped before it could be absorbed.

I don't know. My 3 yr old was potty trained when we arrived. But lost all control of everything after first day. Those toilets in parks flush automatically, often while you are on them, make a tremendous noise, and just might be capable of sucking down a 300 pound man. My son was traumatized. It's funny now. But then it was awful. He would cry when he even saw the restroom sign. LOL

Ah yes, the lovely feeling of your side/hip becoming warm all of the sudden! Next time you might try "nighttime" diapers, I think they are supposed to be more absorbant than regular.

I noticed this too!!. I was doing a lot of changing. It was really hot when we were there and Dd was drinking a lot of water and juice. I'm guessing that was the cause besides the excitement :) I also noticed when she drinks juice she seems to go more, weird.

If he drank less water than usualy- maybe he got a UTI? (Bladder infection)

Or, maybe it's just THAT overwhelming :thumbsup2

Small Post It notes over the sensor on the toilets will prevent the "300 lb man suction cup" from activating. When you are done, remove, run and toss the post it :cool1:

Although my daughter is past diaper age (5)...not sure about my husband...(kidding...he will kill me when he reads this). What about if they have to go while in line? Will the cast members allow us to take her out? Especially if it is a long line?

I likewise think the little guy was/is simply overwhelmed. If a child goes from the sensory levels of a typical home to DISNEY levels, that's a pretty huge difference. Rides, sounds, people, smells, colors -- it's a sensory field day. Their brains are so engrossed in the going around them that bladder control isn't going to get a second thought.

As far as the five year old, I've seen a few people hastily leave a line with "Bathroom Emergency" being said. Others in line are typically parents and we've all been there, we understand. Usually, the CM's will have no problem letting them back into line as it's better not to wind up with a "clean-up in aisle three" issue. If you get to the head of the line before they return, just step aside and let others pass until you're rejoined.
