DD22 had her phone interview today and it was completely different from a prior phone interview, or from what she expected from reading the internet. She'd been accepted to the DCP several years ago but couldn't attend, so she wasn't overly worried about this one. However, it was pretty peculiar. To begin with, the interviewer called 40 minutes before the scheduled time. DD was prepared, but she wasn't in "interview mode" yet. Anyhow, she said the interviewer was pretty straight-forward. Asked her if she'd had any experience running carnival rides, any experience with costuming (which she has), any experience planning vacations or working at the front end of a hotel. NOTHING about why do you want to work for Disney, what do you think you can bring to the company, etc. She said the interviewer's basic response to every answer was, "Oh, that's just adorable!" Honestly, what does THAT mean? DD says she thinks she did fine but isn't holding out any hope- the interviewer really just seemed to be going through the motions. Twenty minutes after the interview was over, the interviewer called back with 3 more questions she "forgot to ask." Totally weird! We're not sure what to think about this phone interview!

That's odd about the timing thing and call-back. They have changed their interviewing strategies and they often skip the fluffy Disney questions. My DD didn't get any either! They want to know what you are qualified for rather than what you think sounds like fun. Good luck to her!

Very interesting. I always assumed that Disney asked these questions because they wanted to make sure their CPCMs realized it was about "being" Disney and making the Magic Happen! I wonder if they are not as interested in that these days. This surely jives with the reports of less-congenial, less-concerned CMs that I have been reading. I wonder if Disney really IS becoming all about nothing other than the bottom line. Hmmm... We'll see.

Very strange! My daughter had hers on Tuesday and from what she told me wasn't anything like that. I am hoping pixie dust for both of them!!! She is on pins and needles waiting. Dashboard is still in progress, so everyday we don't get NLIC, we are happy. :)

DD learned on October 27th that she's been accepted for Spring 2016; her role is in Attractions, just like the first time she applied! I don't know if she'll accept or not; she is scheduled to start a new, full-time, professional position in November. I suspect she's going to bypass Disney for a job in her field. We'll see... but I guess the odd phone interview didn't hurt her chances- LOL!

It is weird that she got a call so early before her time! Mine was about 40 minutes late, which made me think they forgot about me! They are definitely more straight forward these days, not so much fluffy as others have said.

My dad got her phone interview 20 min early. Maybe it's to get the kids "off guard" to get an impression of them not overly prepared
