Pecos Bills or Cosmic Rays

Depends..If you want burgers or BBQ sandwhich I say Pecos its a must do for our first MK day's lunch.

If you want something besides burgers Id say CR they have a decent chicken and rib platter and the turkey wrap is very good.

If I need a CS for dinner in MK I typically do CR. We have two lunches open on our next trip and DH hasnt been to CR so our first day we will go back to PB and then the next MK day we will have lunch at CR..

I also prefer the nice darker inside on a hot summer day of PB but we normally will try and eat around 11 to avoid the lunch crowds

Definitely Cosmic Rays. We tried Pecos Bills in 2008 after reading all the great reviews, and we found it seriously lacking. My DH and I and our best friend's DH had a cheeseburger -- I've had the same at any fast food restaurant -- nothing spectacular, the fries were gross and the fixing bar was a pig sty; my BF had the Taco Salad -- or I should say she had a Taco Shell with a bunch of lettuce and a teaspoon of meat if that much.

Cosmic Rays has so much to offer. Some of our favs are the ribs, the turkey wrap and the pulled pork sandwich.

I like Cosmic Ray’s because it was one of the meals I can remember from my first trip, and it has not changed much. But hands down Pecos Bills is better. The Burger Bar allows you to do a lot to the burgers.

Stick with Columbia Harbour House

Seriously, I've eaten at them all and nobody beats Columbia Harbour House. I find Cosmic Rays to be too loud and chaotic and I've never had a good meal there. Pecos Bills is higher up on my list, but I'm just not as fond of the food there than Columbia Harbour House. Definitely check out the menus on allearsnet and see if you like the food at either place!

We've eaten at both of these restaurants on our last two trips and I'm planning to eat at both of them again this year. We really like the food at both and have had no bad experiences at either. The 'entertainment' at Cosmic Rays is a little corny but it's fine. I'm sure you'll enjoy either restaurant. You could always look up the menus for each. That may also help you make your decision.

These are our two favorites at MK, with Harbour House being our third! (In no particular order)
I find these two to be very comparable. The only difference to me is Pecos Bill's Mexican influence on the food.
Both have an extensive toppings bar! yum.
For me it's really just a matter of which we're closer to at lunchtime. :)

I'm pretty much in agreement with Tink here, except I've never eaten at Rays because I don't like the atmosphere(insert "space" joke here). Pecos Bill's used to have some burgers and chili-cheese fries that were pretty good, but I've heard a lot about the buns being changed at PB's and many don't seem to like it. CHH isn't what it once was, but we think it's still the best CS in MK. In fact, it's about the only place we eat in MK. :earsboy:

I thought the food was better at CR than PB. Definitely more relaxing at PB, though. Depends which is more important to you...CR is very, very noisy.

Cosmic Rays, the rib and chicken combo is decent and the dinner show with Sonny Eclipse is out of this world! :)

For us it's Pecos Bill. :thumbsup2 We tried Cosmic Rays on our last trip but personally I found it to be loud and chaotic.

Food is good at both :thumbsup2 I really like the atmosphere at Cosmic Rays, as well as being a childhood memory, but it is chaotic. There are 3 sides with different menus and I found myself running (not literally :goodvibes ) from side to side not being able to to figure out what I wanted. A CM with menus was standing by and offered me one, made things much easier :thumbsup2 Ended up sitting outside because it was much less chaotic. Also ate outside at Pecos Bill because there were no tables inside available. I think the time makes a huge difference. We were always ready to eat by like 12 or 1, along with the rest of the park :)

We ate at Cosmic Rays on Sat. night..I had the 9.00 1/2 rotiss chicken platter...which wasn't enough to fill my cavity's.....It was on a SMALL plate and had a LITTLE TINY chicken on it....never knew chicken was that small! About 1 tablespoon of Mashed potatoes, and about 6 green beans...that was IT!:sad2: About an hour later I had to have a Hot Dog from Caseys...with that Horrible Bun on it!:headache:

We wanted to try a different counter service at Magic Kingdom. We usually eat at Columbia Harbour House and was thinking about Pecos Bill's or Cosmic Rays. Any help??

The good thing about Cosmic Ray's is that it has three different counters selling different things. Good for offering your group some variety. Pecos Bill is pretty much a "burger place". That being said, I enjoy both and for us, we'll take either depending which part of the park we're in at lunch time.

We ate at both this past trip and the food at both is pretty good. I tried the taco salad at PB and it was surprisingly good. I had the turkey wrap at CR and it was okay...it needed dressing.

Even though I know this is a heated subject, I liked the fact that at PB, you can't sit down without food. At CR, we had to pretty much fight to get seating and we were carrying our food and dealing with the kids and it was just a mess because I needed DH's help to get all the food and we couldn't leave the kids at a table by themselves.

As a side note, we tried Columbia Harbour House for the first time this trip and we loved it! It was quiet and not very busy right around noon. It was easy to find a table and there weren't as many people as in the other restaurants at the same time.

I eat the platters often there, many times each year. And they are never how you describe.

That's surprising to hear! Every time I've gotten that meal it's been huge and I couldn't finish it... and I'm a big eater.
