Pecan Pie

Not addicted but I do like it. It is about the only pie I really like. I had a piece today at my in-law's 50th Anniversary party as a matter of fact :thumbsup2.

I always make it because so many people love it, but it's not my favorite....I really like it made with bourban and chocolate chips, but my dad likes the original recipe so I make it that way for him.

Pecan pie is my favorite!!

Warm pecan pie with a little scoop of vanilla ice cream.... Love pecan pie! :goodvibes

Can you post this recipe please??? :thumbsup2

Caro syrup has the most delicious recipe! I don't make them unless company is coming because I could eat a pie by myself.

I love it, plain or with the bourban and choc chips, although I don't have the recipe for that one, I have had it at restaurants. I think probably has enough calories for a whole year.

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

1 cup white sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup butter
4 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup bourbon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
1 deep 9 inch pie shell

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Spread chocolate chips in the bottom of the pie shell.
In a saucepan combine sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until butter melts and sugar dissolves. Cool slightly.
In a large bowl combine eggs, bourbon, vanilla, and salt. Add Pecans. Mix well. Slowly pour sugar mixture into egg mixture, whisking constantly. Carefully pour mixture into pie shell.
Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes, or until set and golden.

anyone else addicted to this stuff?

While it is not my favorite, it makes me miss my mother. She loved it and she made the best pecan pie I've ever eaten. My son just talked about it today. He said, "I'm gonna miss Grandma again this year because there will be no good stuffing and no good pecan pie." :sad1:

Sounds good, except I don't see where the pecans come into the recipe! :rotfl:

Love the pecan pie if myself or mom makes it other wise it's iffy all depends on the nuts used an how good they are an even then not all pecan pies created equal.

What most of you are calling the burbon pecan pie is I think actually Kentucky
derby pie very very popular around the Kentucky Derby at Derby time... it too is very good even then I prefer my own to esp store bought.

Yep, now that you mention it, that is how it was listed at the restaurants where I have eaten it. I woke up from my sugar coma about 3 days later but it was so worth it. lol

I had deep fried Pecan Pie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce a couple years ago. It was the first time I had tried Pecan Pie and I was hooked. Now I make it frequently but always put some type of chocolate or chocolate chips in it. Everything goes better with chocolate!!! :goodvibes

Yes, however it is really rich. I do have a taste along with my pumpkin pie.
