I have saved my change for about a year now and counted it last week. I have $163.27. I'd like to get something in Japan with a pearl in it but was wondering what they have and how much it is. Anyone know?????

THANKS

The pearl itself is well under $20, I forget the actual figure, and the setting is pretty much whatever you're willing to pay. I think the ring my wife chose and the pearl were in the $35 - $50 range but you could go lower or higher depending on your choice.

They have rings, earring, necklaces etc. A couple weeks ago I got a gold ring with a little diamond and a necklace for my daughter with a little diamond. All together we spent $288 but you must know I think I chose the most expensive ring.

Just a word of caution, be very careful with your pearl. I purchased mine on Wed and was told not to wear it until Thurs am to let it set. Well I wore it on Friday to MK and just after dinner I looked down and the pearl was gone. We were coming home on Sat so I couldn't get back. I called on Sat, got a return call but was on the plane, called again on Sunday and the store manager answered. She said they stand by their work so I sent my ring back. Just got a call yesterday saying my ring was on its way back to me and she hopes I am happy. The store manager has been fantastic but nothing worse than saving saving for the big souvenir then having nothing to show but a post with some dried glue on it when you get back home!

This was my favorite item from the whole trip!

It is only $14.00 to pick a pearl and then there are
many choices of settings, gold or silver, rings, earrings, pendants.

You should have no trouble with finding something
to suit you in your price range!

Good luck and enjoy!

WE do it everytime we go to The World. They both have necklaces ( not very expensive ones) and I have a beautiful crystal shell with the pearl in it. We also have a few that they never had set...they just like to have them and the excitement of picking the shell is FUN!!

:thumbsup2 dd and I got the matching silver setting for a necklace very classic look. it wasn't over 20.00, they have chains but I waited till I got home to get one. have fun! :wizard:

So, is the jewelry of decent quality? My DD expressed interest in doing this but after reading the above post with the setting falling out, I'm not sure anymore. Anyone else have their setting fall out? Does their jewelry turn you green?

I got a pearl (about $13) and then got it put into a necklace. I had to pay for the chain and the little cage they mounted it in separately. It only came to around $30-40 though. It's really pretty. Also, I had to pay more for a bigger cage to put the pearl in because my pearl was a big one.

Are you given something to keep it safe in? Like a box or something?

I just had this done last week. I had the necklace done for $29. Already had a chain so I didn't need to buy one. I love it.

my pearl was $15-ish
My setting was a sterling ring setting...dont know price but it was about $65-70 they have a decent selection of settings in all price ranges...
for my $15 dollars I got an 8mm PINK pearl!!!

Do they have the Mickey Mouse necklace with oyster that is a set like they sell on the disney cruise at disney world? It's a necklace in silver or gold of Mickey's head in 3d and it holds the pearl inside after you open the oyster up.

quality is decent. The materials won't turn your hand green or any other color from my experience. My pearl has yet to fall out of my ring and I wear it quite a bit to work and handle lots of paper and stuff - so no problems so far.

HTH.

I believe the gold said 10K or at least my ring did.

Ok, so I know this is hard to believe and I wonder if we just happened to be there on a bad day but tonight at the dinner table I looked at my daughter (5 years old) and her pearl was gone. I am not going to send it back because it costs me more to send it back than it did for the necklace and I already paid $35 to send my ring back. I truly hope we just happened to hit them on a bad day but I am sooo disappointed that my pearl fell out two days after purchase and my daughter's 2 weeks to the day after purchase.

When we got them in Japan (epcot) they put the pearl in a tiny ziploc baggie with the measurement of the pearl on it. When we did this near the Yand B Club they put it in a little "silk" bag with a snap...I have red, DD #1 got Green and DD#2 got yellow. These were the times we DID NOT have jewelery made. I forget what they put the jewelery in for you? Sorry

i went to downtown disney to get my pearl and it was 14.95 or 14.99 and the necklace setting was 24.99.... i thought that included the chain, but i was wrong. when i asked them how much the actual chain was the lady said the only one they had was 69 bucks.

ummmmm no. im not paying that much for a chain when i can get one at target for 12 bucks...

so my sister did the pearl think in DTD too, and got the SAME chain the lady showed me, and i asked her how much she paid for it and she said it cost her 20 bucks.

I was pretty upset. Makes me wonder if they tell you different prices to see how much you will pay. I might get another pearl if i go back... but i will NEVER get a chain or something like that. i will always get it done at home!

I got a 7mm pearl last week. I had it set in a silver setting for a necklace. They had 3 different prices for the chain but I had one so I skipped it. after they mounted it they put it in a small ziploc baggie and then in a box.

I got a 7mm white pearl - it cost $14.95 to pick the pearl.
I then chose the silver cage - it was the larger size
to fit the pearl it was around $18.00.
I chose the cage because it left the pearl in perfect shape,
no drilling, gule, etc.

I already had a chain so I just used my own.
They put the pearl once it was in the cage, in a tiny ziploc
with the date/size of pearl and then in a WDW box.

I love it and have gotten many compliments on it!
It is my favorite purchase of the trip.
