Pearl in Epcot??

Can anyone tell me if you are able to buy a pearl in an oyster at Epcot or one of the other Disney parks....do they open the oyster for you or can you buy one in an oyster to take home and open?

If anyone could inform me that would be awesome, as I have this in mind for someone for Christmas!

When we were there a couple of years ago we went into the big store in Japan and they had the pearl in an oyster thing. They opened them for us. I don't know if you can just take it or if they have to open it. I know that they kept them in water so it may be that they need to be kept in water so they oyster doesn't die - it might affect the pearl.

We just got back from a royal carribean cruise and they have a kit that includes a live clam in a container sealed in the liquid (sorta like a can of tunafish) that you can open yourself, and each is guaranteed to have a pearl in it. It comes with a sterling silver necklace that the pearl slips in.
Alot cheaper than the ones in the parks (we priced them!) Google on here "wish pearl necklace" Some places even ship them for under 20 bucks total, shipping, necklace and pearl! HTH`s!

You buy the oyster and they open it there. The cost is $14.00. I'm pretty certain you can't take the oyster with you since there is no way to seal it in anything.

The necklace settings start at around $18 and go up. You don't have to buy a setting, you can just take your pearl by itself.

In Japan there is a station inside the shop where you can pick and oyster and they open it for you there.

There is also a station in Downtown Disney where you can do this too (they sell jewlery to put the pearl in as well)

But sadly they don't allow you to buy the oyster to open at home -as far as I know.

This is our favorite thing to do in Epcot! It is a tradition for both myself and my two daughters. Can't wait till we are there in TWO days to get another pearl!
