Hi! Could someone recommend which restaurant would be the best for a child with peanut allergy in Epcot? I'm trying to make a candlelight processional dinner package reservation and I've narrowed it down to Via Napoli, Le Cellier, Garden Grill and Coral Reef. Has anyone had any experience with these? Thanks!!

Le Cellier was great with our allergies but it has been awhile since we were there. I don't recall reading any negatives about them recently however - in regards to allergies.

We've done the QS place at The Land and they were good - so I imagine the sit-down would be also.

We also like Biergarten, Akershus, and Teppan Edo and we've dined at the British place and the French place with no problems. I completely dislike the Mexican sit-down and wouldn't go there if they paid me - they were ok with allergies but not the best.

We were last at Le Cellier in '09, but they were excellent with my son's Peanut/tree nut/wheat issues. No matter where you go, make sure you ask to speak to the chef if they don't offer to get him/her.

I have had problems at Garden Grill and do not recommend them

Thank y'all for these responses! DS (2) was just diagnosed with a peanut allergy and our 180 day ADR window is coming up. We LOVE eating at Epcot so I truly appreciate being able to get your expert opinions! Both our kids will definitely want to stick with the kids menu but we want to go to places where we all will feel safe!

We are thinking of going to Le Cellier and then trying the Coral Reef or The Pub in England. Thank you all so much again!

We've had great experiences at Coral Reef and Garden Grill. My kids are peanut, tree nut and shellfish allergic. Chefs were terrific at both restaurants.

We were pleased at Garden Grill. The very protective server would not even bring our drinks until we talked to the chief and he was willing to check labels and bring exactly what I asked instead of giving us a generic answer.

Talking Hands, what were the issues? I had them down as a repeat place but would hate to find our experience was the exception and not the rule.

Biggest was dessert. I am dairy, shellfish, aspartame, and mango allergic and extremely sensitive to any sugar alcohols. All I was able to eat was the meat and the chef was very unwilling to make alternatives. So pretty much all I could eat was the meat. Also for dessert I was offered a rice crispy treat when I had already informed the chef that I am also diabetic. You would think was all those salad greens they are growing in the Land they could at least come up with a salad with some vinagerette dressing and maybe a baked potato. It wasn't as if we had not informed them when making the reservations. This was for Candlelight package and the chef didn't seem interested in being helpful at all.

I have 2 PA, TA, sunflower seed, annatto allergic sons (14 & 16).

We have eaten in Le Cellier a few times. They have been great with the food allergies.

At Via Napoli, we did not have a good experience. The chef said; my poor DS could only have pizza crust with mozerella cheese. :( We where shocked!

We also love Teppan Edo with the CLP package last Christmas-- They are great with food allergies!!

Our boys did have a good experience at the Pub in England, too.

Good luck on your ADRs.

DD11 has Peanut, Tree nut, Dairy, and egg allergies. We have had multiple wonderful experiences at both Tokyo Dining and Teppan Edo.

What was in the sauce at Via Napoli that they couldn't have it??? :confused3

I have an email out to Special Diets about Via Napoli to find out if it is safe for my PA child. I have heard mixed allergy reports and I would hate to make my CP package there only to have my child eat nothing. Especially for 2TS!!! As soon as I get a resonspe, I'll let yall know!!
Thanks for all the responses thusfar!! I'm going to look at Tepan Edo's menu altho I'm nervous b/c my kids are also very picky eaters.

This happened a little more then a year ago -- If I remember correctly...it had something to do with their suppliers.

I was really surprised because we have ALWAYS had a great experience with food allergies at WDW. I know that EPOCT is different because they are not owned by disney, but we have never had a problem at the other restaurants: Teppan Edo, Le Cellier, the Pub.

My DS jokes... about how he had a "flat" bread with cheese for dinner. I also remember when it was time for dessert... they told him how they had a 'safe' brownie for him. Imagine his surprise when they brought out a packaged 'gluten free brownie'. He was expecting a home-maked brownie. It was not a good experience for a 'food allergic' teen. ;)

I also would love to hear about Via Napoli - everyone just LOVES pizza - but in reading y'alls posts it seemed to get mixed reports.

still no response from Special Diets and tomorrow starts my 180 day window for ressies. UGH!

Make your ressies. Make sure you tell the CM about the allergies.
You can always modify after finding out more info, but it's good to get SOMETHING reserved!

Hope you get it all figured out! :wizard:

Got my response from Special Diets and it says NOTHING about Via Napoli. It says nothing specific at all - just generic. So, I'm glad I made my ressie with Teppan Edo for the Candlelight Processional Package.

My daugher has Peanut and Tree Nut allergies and we had a great experience at both Le Cellier and Coral Reef. We are going in a few weeks and have reservations at Via Napoli. I will have to check to make sure she can eat there.

Have a great time!! Please come back and give us a dining review with the nut allergies (esp. Via Napoli)! We're not going until Christmas!

have fun! I'd love to know how it goes! We are trying to finalize when we are going to go (Jan or Feb) so we can be sure to make those ADR's at the earliest possible time! Thank you all for all of your help!
When we first got this diagnosis last month - it was a bit daunting - but it has been great to know that we can still plan an awesome family vacation! thank you all so much! :goodvibes
