What desserts were "safe" in the TS restaurants? What about CS or snacks?

In general, we're not overly cautious. We don't avoid many things that are "made in the same facility", though we are more likely to avoid "made on the same equipment".

Will the restaurants let you make a judgement call and describe how/why things are "unsafe" and let you decide if you're okay with it or not?

I think Disney is great with dealing with food allergies. I'm pretty sure if you tell them your food allergy, even at counter service they can help you. You may even want to talk to a manager as they will have the best information. I also think they have a book that lists the ingredients of everything. The manager can check for you.
At sit down restaurants, if you let them know your allergy, a chef will come out and go over the menu with you. They are great with things they may even be cross contaminated.

Thanks! I do have it noted on the ADRs and plan to ask everywhere we go. I was just wondering in general terms, what desserts were available :)

If there aren't many options, I may bring some things ourselves or start preparing my daughter now that she can't eat X!

I think there are a ton of desserts w/o peanut or peanut butter. Most counter service offer either a chocolate cake or chocolate mousse and some other option, carrot cake, apple pie, key lime mousse..etc.
I would say, check out the menus on the site to see what desserts are offered, but I'm pretty sure you won't have a problem

We just returned and have a daughter, not with a peanut allergy, but an egg allergy. Hopefully I can shed a little light for you!

As far as table service- we did all buffets for dinners and at every one the chef made her an ice cream with sprinkles, and/or Divvies cookies. Now, mind you, egg MAY be more prevalent in baked desserts than peanut... but being I have no experience with peanut allergy, maybe I'm wrong. They WILL be able to tell you exactly what dessert on the buffet your child can and can't have if peanut is in some but not all.

In quick service there are always frozen yogurt or Mickey ice cream bar/ice cream sandwich. My daughter thoroughly looked forward to her daily Mickey Bar.

In quick service meals, they were very helpful- but they are strict about "made in a facility that also uses... etc" I didn't push them on it, but if you said you weren't that worried, they MIGHT go with you on it. Not sure.

All this being said, if you e mail about your allergy, they will e mail you back with 2 packets of info on things in the park and resorts that your son will find to eat, and also they will send you a form to fill out with your reservations on them- they will contact every chef and each chef will have a copy of that form. I happened to write on the comments section that my daughter esp. liked grilled meats, rice, mashed potato, steamed brocolli and green beans- and at one of the buffet meals the chef literally came out "Oh, is this the one that loves grilled meats and steamed broccoli?" He made her a plate special of each thing I named. Really above and beyond.....

The email is for the Special Diets group.... you can find it online when you make your dining reservations and note an allergy...

Good luck! OH and other desserts I saw at quick service were - rice krispy treats, magic bars, brownies, cookies, cupcakes.... so you are definitely going to need to be steered to what they can have!

Disney is AWESOME at taking care of allergies and will go as far as preparing special meals at all TS restaurants. Our youngest is allergic to peanut, dairy, soy, egg, strawberries, oranges, and on and on... but at Disney he eats a regular meal just like the rest of us!

Usually no they will not let you make the judgement call. I'm allergic to peanuts but it's not a severe allergy. I can normally eat produced in a factory with and for brands I trust even made on the same equipment. At buffets for the desserts you are stuck with what they will bring you out since the nut stuff is mixed up on platters except for the ice cream. At QS all the new mousse things might be fine (I never checked because they don't appeal to me) but all the little baked cakes, cookies, brownies, and cupcakes were a total no. There are allergy safe cookies and brownies. Nothing is safe in any of the bakeries or special candy counters unless it's prepackaged. For snacks the funnel cakes are not considered safe nor the big pretzels but it's made on issue and I have eaten both numerous times. I'm not sure about the packaged ice cream treats because I'm also allergic to beans and they use bean gums. The scooped ice cream snacks is a no but soft serve ok. Some places will have scooped ice cream that they keep safe and all the table services have safe ice cream. At TS I usually have a choice of creme brulee or fruit or something prepackaged.

Sad to say not much. All the bakery stuff is made in a facility that processes peanuts. So its not safe. My DD had ice cream every meal. They do have some peanut free cookies at some of the QS spots. She could eat the kids dessert at the Garden Grill but I think they had to motidy it a little. DD was able to eat the Mickey Chocolate Ice Cream bar and popsicles as snacks.

Just alert the person taking your order at QS, and they will get a manager for you. And make sure you alert your server at TS, they will have the chef come out and talk to you.

You can get Cotton Candy at Epcot, and its a snack! DD loved that! For some reason it was higher priced at MK, and we couldnt get it there.
