We booked the free dining for peak days in December. Many of the TS restaurants say that there is an additional charge during peak periods. Will we be charged that amount and have to pay it OOP even though we are on the FD? I know we have to pay gratuities, but I can't find info about whether we will be charged for this peak surcharge.
Thanks for the help.

No, there will not be any surcharge OOP as your dining credits will take care of your meals. You will, however, have to pay OOP for anything you order above and beyond what is included with the plan (i.e., an appetizer at dinner if you have the regular DDP and not the deluxe plan).

There is no change in how you use your dining credits during peak season. When you use your dining plan credits there will not be a surcharge. As Mickeynut1 wrote - you will only have to pay OOP for anything you order that is not covered by the plan.

Perhaps you read that the cost of the dining plans go up during peak seasons, but since you have FD you didn't have to worry about the cost of your plan. Likewise, when paying OOP, the buffets and family style meals cost more during peak seasons.
