Has anyone stayed here? I realize it is not close to DLR, but for a first time going to DLR I hope it is okay. We are a family of 6 so a lot of hotels do not accept 6 per room. Please let me know what you think of this hotel.

We own with shell, we've stayed at the Peacock quite a few times. It's a nice place, friendly enough staff, the valets are amazing and the rooms are nice. If you're not a Shell owner the concierge will try to send you to a sales presentation, if you are an owner they will still try to send to one. LOL But it's a nice enough place to stay. :)

We also own with Shell and stayed here for 10 nights this past Oct. I thought it was decent. I liked having the separated living area and a microwaver, toaster and frig. My kids liked the continental breakfast (it was just ok to me). We really liked that it was right next to some gas stations so we could run over for sodas or water and it's also really close to the restaurants at that open air mall (drawing a complete blank on the name). We walked to the parks and it was a bit far but was quicker than the shuttle and easier with a double jogging stroller. If you have kids who have to walk, I'd do the shuttle! Overall I like staying closer to the parks but would stay there again.

Did you see if HoJo's has their family suite available? That's our favorite place to stay!

We've stayed here several times and have enjoyed each of our visits. the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, the valets were nice as well. I don't like having to pay to park but that's the way it is. It is a little far to have to walk to the parks and we've always used ART. We have a family of six as well and there was plenty of room for all of us.

We have also stayed there as we are Shell owners. The ART goes right by there so you dont have to worry about transportation. It is nice to have a small kitchen area. We took crock pots and some frozen meals and ate in the hotel as much as possible.

If you are a Shell owner and able to do trades (I think we traded through RCI), I would try to get a place at Dolphin Cove Resort. SO much better in my opinion and you have a full kitchen!

Stayed here twice. Room was nice. When you walked in there was a living room with TV, DVD player, fold out couch, microwave, fridge. Then there is a hallway with a really nice, big counter, mirrors and sink. Bathroom and shower on the right. In the bedroom nice king with another tv and dvd player. Breakfast was ok, pool and hottub just fine. We walked, daughter was 8, and the walk was fine. Usually took the ART back though after a long day. No complaints!

You must have stayed in a corner room that had 2 full bedrooms. Most rooms are not like that.....most rooms you walk into the bathroom area, then into the bedroom area and then the living area is at the opposite end. That's where the sofa sleeper is along with the microwave and mini fridge. :)

Our room was over the carport and facing the office, pool and rest of the parking lot. It wasnt in a hallway and on the 2nd floor I think. The time before that time thats exactly what the room was like with the bathroom, bedroom and living room. I think that one was down a hallway.

I have stayed there quite a few times also as svc owners and our room has been the set up that the other poster said, with the living room first then the bathroom and then the bedroom. It was a one bedroom, we always get this set-up regardless of what floor we were on.

I've never stayed over the carport, maybe the rooms there are larger.

In the past 2 years we stayed there probably 10 times, on EVERY floor, in 1 and 2 bedroom units. The only time we had a room with the living room first was when we were "upgraded" for 1 night to the corner unit with 2 actual bedrooms. Most of the rooms at the Peacock are exactly as I described them. there's a reason that you attend a meeting in anaheim you don't go see room models.....LOL the Peacock is admittedly (by all the sales reps) the worst property they have. They tell us that at every member meeting. LOL

There are many floor plans there, like the others have said. Did you book a one or two bedroom suite? If it's a one bedroom, make sure you ask for the better set-up because if you go back to the room at different times or head out to the breakfast while others are sleeping, it's goofy to walk through the bedroom to the front door.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite 1.5 years ago and thought it was great - for a motel, not a timeshare. It was nice having some dishes (they give you service for 4-6 people) and I didn't have to pack paper. Plus you have a mini fridge and microwave. The pull out couch was absolutely awful. You could feel the support bars, even with three comforters piled on top. My friend said sleeping on the floor would have been better. The other beds were quite nice though. The walk was about 20 minutes to the gate. We had a room overlooking the parking lot so we could time the ART perfectly and knew when to walk down (takes about 10-20 minutes to the gate too). My only beef is the shuttle's 2 hour break every afternoon, so we ended up walking half the time. I also hate that you have to pay $8/day for parking! :scared1: The free breakfast is basic, but offers protien, so it's better than none - oatmeal, cold cereal, pastry, hard-boiled eggs, oranges.

We ended up buying a 2 bedroom at Dolphin's Cove and stay there each time now :) , but we'd do Peacock again if we needed a suite elsewhere.
