Ended up with a split stay (time share thing:confused3 ) 1st night at Peacock suites followed by 2 nights at Crowne Plaza. Has anyone stayed at either? How is the shuttle to the park?
Not quite sure how we will switch between the two without losing valuable park time.;)

Looks like we will be checking in the same day you are. We have friends who stay at the Peacock Suites and they really like it. I've read a lot of negative reviews on it, so I'm going with really low expectations. I called and asked about the shuttle, it is actually ART. It is the last stop before Disneyland, so the ride will be short but there is a chance that it will be standing room only depending on how busy the parks are. The price was right, and frankly, we don't spend a whole lot of time in our rooms anyway.

We've stayed at Peacock on two trips in 2003 and 2007 and we really like this hotel. The swimming pool is a little small but the kids didn't seem to care and it does have two hot tubs which was nice. We stayed in the rooms that sleep six so it had a divider in the middle, which was nice as well. The kids could go to bed on one side and we could stay up on the other side. I thought the rooms were clean, and I'm a clean freak. the kids enjoyed the breakfast that they have and the rooms have a small refrigerator, microwave and toaster which was nice because we bring some food with us.

The only thing I didn't like about our latest trip was that they now charge for parking....kind of stupid. You couldn't get your own car, they had to do it for you so it was kind of a pain but we used ART the whole time we were there. We only took the car out a couple times. We found the buses to be fine as well, the only time they were crowded was when we left the parks at night. And if you have to, you can walk. My DS, 17, missed the bus one time and just walked back to the hotel, cutting across a couple parking lots.

Would we stay there again? Sure, if they get rid of the paid parking...

Thanks for the replies.:goodvibes I agree about the parking, I think you should get parking for 1 car per room anyways. It only makes sense.
Sounds like Peacock Suites will be fine for us. We thought we were staying there 3 nights, but got our conformation from time share co, and saw that two nights are at Crowne Plaza. Oh well, I'll take it.

I've never stayed at the Crowne Plaza, but I believe it is on Harbor near the Hyatt. The Hyatt and CP share a private shuttle. We have stayed at the Hyatt many times. You are right by a Red Robin and a Joe's Crab Shack. Target is right across the street.

As for the Peacock parking, it sounds like their parking spaces are reeeeeaaaaalllllyyyy tight. The probably added the valet parking to prevent accidents from people parking their own cars.

Never stayed at the Crowne but we did stay at the Peacock in December. Never again will we stay there. We didn't like it at all. The hotel itself was fine, the room was fine, the breakfast was fine. We hated riding ART and waiting for it at the end of night was a nightmare. We would much rather stay on Harbor and walk to our hotel at the end of the night. Also parking was a nightmare, when we got there some kid had hit the valet's personal car so he was freaked out and then he hit us too!!! And then when we needed to get something out of the car the attendant got rude with us telling us "I will get your car, please do NOT get into it" all I needed was my sunglasses....no need to pull the whole car out! LOL You do have to pay per day parking fees and you have to have cash for that. We won't stay there again, we will save our timeshare points for something else and stay at the HoJo or BWPPI or Tropicana in the future.

Thanks for the heads up on the parking and valet problems. At this point we'll hope for the best. Disney will make anything bearable!

I wanted to update this thread. We returned on Saturday from our trip. We pricelined one night at the Doubletree and spend the rest of our week at Peacock. The Doubletree was very nice. Beds were fantastic! We had our own car so we did not use the shuttle. The only issue is that they only have double beds in the two bed rooms. I'm not sure that would work for us during a week stay.

Next we moved to Peacock. As I posted earlier, I had really low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. We were in a double queen room. The kids chose to sleep on the hide-a-bed in the sitting room. :confused3 It looked very uncomfortable, but the kids loved it. Our beds were very comfortable. We didn't hear any noise from the surrounding rooms and since we were on the 4th floor, we didn't have anyone above us. Our room was clean and the maid arranged the stuffed animals for the kids. The only weird thing was that we weren't given any soap. We called down and they eventually brought some up to us. They are under new management, so I think they were using up the old supply and switching to a different brand since we got two different kids of shampoos and soaps during our stay. I believe they also do a $100 security hold on your cc now.

The free breakfast was adequate and we had no complaints. They did offer breakfast burritos for $1.50 but we didn't try them. I can see why they have valet service as the parking spaces are really tight. I'm sure there were lots of complaints about dings, dents, etc in the past. $8 for valet is reasonable compared to other hotels we have stayed at in the Disneyland area. We didn't use the shuttle, but as far as I could tell, it was always on time. The kids used the pool a couple of times and they had a great time. We will probably stay there again since we have our own car and the room layout suits our needs.
