Peach Pass, Sun Pass Arrgghh....But then there was a phone call!

For years, I've been intimidated by all the sun pass talk and transponders and convenience fees, which rental company gouges the least, which expressway to take, which lane, how to ensure we did not get 'the letter' a month after our trip saying we blew through a toll lane.... We always go through the cash lane and avoid the fees but we heard cash lanes will be removed soon.

But now, I finally have the answer I need! I'm a Georgia resident. I just got off the phone with the Peach Pass folks. I can go to my local CVS (and other places too) and purchase a pay and go, put $20 on it, then call them when I choose my Alamo car down at MCO. They will register the make model and license plate of the car, and I will stick the sticker on the windshield just under the rear view mirror.

That way I can drive through the Sun Pass lanes, using my peach pass.

Their website also says once I call to convert the pay and go to a toll account, to allow for traveling in the Sun Pass lanes, I'll receive $5 in free trip money to the account.

Once our trip is done, I remove the peach pass, go home, put it on my home car and call the Peach Pass folks, giving the make & model and tag of my own car and be done. And if I choose to not put it on my car, I can call and get a refund from any remaining funds.

Hopefully there won't be any issues.

I'm surprised that you can move the sticker from car to car. Here in FL, SunPass says removing their stick-on pass from the windshield destroys it. You have to get the portable version with suction cups to move it between vehicles.

I agree and am suspicious. She told me I could. I watched one guy who placed a cell phone screen cover over his and it sticks to the windshield easily. Might try that and run through a local toll to see if it works.

We live in NY and got tired of stopping for tolls. We ordered a Florida Sun Pass transponder. When we get into our rental we put the transponder on the windshield. There suction cups on the responder. We then call Sun Pass to give them the info on the car rental. Works out great!

Not always true. Removed my sunpass and put it on my new windshield when I had to have my windshield replaced. Just gotta take your time when removing it.

Has anybody tried the trick of sticking it to a screen cover clear plastic so it will still stick but is more easily removable?

Won't work. The pass it self has to physically touch the glass. My mom tried putting hers on her tint strip and it wouldn't read at sunpass.

I haven't done that, but, I have ordered two SunPass stickers and both times, tolls were charged to my account from just being in the truck that transported it! I had to call to get the toll charges removed.
