anyone have any good recipes for peach cobbler, mine came out kinda runny, thanks:cool2:

Dump Cake (It's really more like a cobbler, very tasty & easy ) :)

Take a large can of peaches with the juice, and dump it into a greased cake pan. Sprinkle a package of spice cake mix over the top. Slice up 3 - 4 Tbsp of butter and dot top of cake mix and bake at about 400 F until it's bubbly and the top is browned. SOOOO delicious. :woohoo:

I love that one. I use to bake it all the time.

Oh, yeah, do NOT mix the cake mix into the peaches. Just sprinkle it on. The butter is enough liquid when it melts, and it absorbs the peach juice from below. Somehow, it just all does it's own thing in the oven & comes out. :)

There are variations of fruit in the Dump Cake at this thread here:

that sounds yummy, i usually make a pumpkin dump cake, but i'm gonna try the peach one. thanks:thumbsup2

Try this one-

2/3 C. Sugar
2/3 C. Milk (2% or whole)
2/3 C. Self-Rising Flour
2 cans peaches in syrup
(or if it's a good time of year, 2 cups fresh, sliced peaches + 3/4 cup sugar)
1 stick Margarine
Oven temp 350
Bake Time- approx 1 hr or until golden on top

In a glass or corning wear caserole dish, melt 1 stick butter in the oven.
In a seperate bowl, combine sugar, milk, and flour

Once butter is melted, remove from oven and pour peaches (w/ juice) into dish. If using fresh peaches, sprinkle 3/4 c. sugar evenly on top of peaches.

Pour liquid batter on top of peaches. (yes, it will sink to the bottom but no worries! It will bake beautifully)

Cook for 1 hour or until firm and golden brown on top.

If desired, sprinkle top w/ cinnamon sugar upon removal from oven.

This also works well with frozen fruits and other canned fruits.

I was just thinking that your cobbler may have come out runny if you used canned peaches and didn't discard the liquid from the can.
