Has anyone ever participated or knows someone who has?

My friend did. He's send to Senegal in Africa about 3 years ago, to teach farming and agriculture and such. He truly enjoyed the experiences.

I had a teacher in HS who spent a couple of years in Kenya (don't remember what she did exactly) and the Nephew of a friend was in Morroco for a couple of years in the mid-80s doing something related to crop irrigation. From what I remember both really seemed to enjoy the experience.

one of my friends is in africa now, and my parents both did two tours in the marshall islands. my friend is doing something related to health and hiv; my parents taught english.

My cousin is teaching English in Africa now
