Has anybody ever been to the Peabody Hotel down I-drive and taken in the Peabody Duck's daily ritual? It looks like a fun thing to see and its done at 11am and 5pm everyday. Just thinking of new things to do and this has been on our list for years but have never got around to it..Just wondering if its worth it?!

We went in 2005 to see the ducks. We didn't actually see the 'parade' even though we were there at the 'right' time (5pm) but it was cute to just sit in the lobby and watch them playing in the fountain.

it is something which is probably worth doing if you're staying on I-Drive and have a spare hour and happen to be in the right area but I certainly wouldn't make a special trip to I-Drive for it.

If I can figure out how to I'll post some footage when we come home - that's where we're staying when we go in 5 weeks time :cheer2:

:thumbsup2 yes thats what I sort of thought really...its one of those things that I always say to DH 'oh look there's the Peabody hotel we must go in at some point and see the ducks' as we go whizzing past it on I-drive:)

I must admit it does look like a fantastic hotel..please 'suss' it out I'd love to see your footage of them.

Have a fantastic time;)

Here is a link to the day of my trip report that we went to the Peabody to see the ducks. I apologise for the lack of photos - that was in the early days, when I used to take a couple of hundred photos during a whole trip (as opposed to now when I take that many before we have even left the UK :rotfl2:)

We went to see them 20 years ago, then they used to march through the lobby to the fountain to 'Colonel Bogie' - don't know if they still do this. We then wanted to go to the BLine Diner in the hotel for lunch but it was closed for renovations. Still never been back to do that!

:thumbsup2 thank you for that..

I was looking at the post after yours saying they had heard belz wasn't so good now but Festival Bay was good...how times change in such a short while...Belz gone and a really good Premium Outlets now in its place and Festival Bay really struggling and looking likely to go the same way as Belz..

The ducks are so cute might have to try and fit them in..

I've stayed at The Peabody a couple of times and it really is a beautiful hotel. The duck march is absolutely adorable, definitely worth watching if you get the chance. If you go, try to make time to visit the retro diner there. The food's really good and reasonably priced.

I couldn't see the Retro Diner on their web page..what is it called?

I have stayed for a couple of nights at the peabody, a heads up, its often a hotwire mystery hotel.
