My husband went out drinking with his college friends and is obliterated. This is the first time he has really drank in close to ten years and he does not even know how much he drank or what. I am so mad at him but am very worried at the same time. He somehow managed to make it to the train and is on his way home. He will have to walk from the staion to our house, about a half mile. Please send some PD for him to get home safely and not to get arrested for public intoxication or something stupid like that.

Here's my pixie dust! :D

Sending Pixie Dust your way and hoping your DH makes it home safe & sound!! Is it possible to have a taxi or friend/neighbor pick him up at the train station?

What suburb of Chicago do you live in? Just curious because we're heading to Downers Grove in June.

Here is some PD for you. I guess he went out and gave it that old college try eh.

I was also going to suggest that maybe you could meet him at the train station when he gets off, and get a taxi for the both of you. Then you wouldn't have to worry about him.
I hope he gets home safely.

I agree, not really wise to try and let him attempt to navigate a half mile at this time of the night in that condition. VERY unsafe. Hoping you both do well. I might even think a call to the police might be appropriate, for them to bring him home, or maybe a cab to wait for him. If it were up north, I would go get him for you.

heh, heh
I remember those days! Ofcourse I was very young! I'm sending pixie dust your way!! I know all about those "college friends"!;)

Hockeymom7691 ~ We live in Mokena which is down by Orland Park, about 30 minutes or so from Downers Grove.

Unfortunatly I can't go get him as all three kids are sound asleep already. There is really noone I can call to go pick him up and a taxi would be an arm and a leg to dispatch around here. I might try to call my folks before it gets too late, don't even know if they are home from the work party but worth a shot.

Let us know when he gets home safely!! I liked Dan's idea about calling the police. Maybe they'll give him a ride?!?!

Well I hope it doesn't wind up costing him an arm or a leg, because I've heard way too many drunk/train stories where it literally does.

Here's a  and some PD :wizard: I'm hoping your DH makes it home safely.

Doc says it right, piglet too. People do get injured when drunk. I'd call the local police and tell them. They don't want a drunk person walking home at midnight, and they won't arrest him, he has not really broken the law. They just want him home, off the street, safely.

I got ahold of my parents and they are going to pick him up. Thank you for suggesting it as I never thought to ask my family to pick him up.

DocRafiki ~ I know how dangerous it is for him to be mixing alcohol with all the problems that can come around a train. I don't mean to make it sound like the cost of a cab is more important than him. We litterally only have enough money right now to last for food and his 10-rides this next week til he gets paid. We even had to borrow for that. (And before anyone asks, his friends paid for it all tonight) Sorry to get offended if none was meant, but when we are in a position of not knowing if we have money to feed our kids well this week, and hoping that the diapers last til payday, cab fare is something to factor.

I'm so glad your parents are picking him up! I feel better already!:)

Thanks all, he's home...now let the fun begin, he is so drunk!

Phew, I'm glad he's home! Now let's home he passes out and sleeps through the night without getting sick!;)
