Everyone...need Pixie dust and prayers!

My friend that lives in Cocoa Beach just flew to to get her baby!!

She has been trying to adopt for sometime and she got word last night that the baby was born...she is at the hospital waiting to see the baby...could everyone just have a happy thought for T, B and Baby J and that it all goes smoothly with the adoption!!

She is such an awesome person and a ped's RN that will just be an awesome mom!
Thanks so much!

UPDATE:
Yesterday, when it was time to sign the papers..."suddendly", after 9 months, the birth mother "remembered" who the father was (this is after denying knowing who he was) and when he was contacted, he wants to raise the baby (he's 19)...my friend is broken..pls continue to think good thoughts for her.

Prayers for your friend! I remember that call! March 14th 10:00am, he was 2 days old already! Very exciting time!! :goodvibes

What a perfect Christmas present! Good luck to them both.

How exciting! Good luck to them! I know this will be the best Christmas ever:)

Wow! What a great Christmas gift - for mom, dad and baby!!!

Best wishes to all! :flower:

Thanks for the PD! She is in heaven and he is the cutest thing...I have pics but won't post for reasons I am sure you understand!

I remember our call, too. We got to meet our children on July 25, 2001 at 6:30 p.m. I was shaking, I was so excited. DH and I cried all the way to our rendesvous.

I hope that everything goes smoothly and motherhood is everything she ever dreamed it would be and more!

update on page one:

Can't say I wasn't afraid this would happen cause the birth mom claimed she "didn't know" who the father was...but I really hoped for the best

I am so sorry that happened! How can someone play with someone's emotions like that. :guilty:

I wish good luck to your friends in finding another child, and that everything works out for them.

So sorry to hear this, DDN. As an adoptive dad, I certainly know that joy that could be there. Prayers that is will be someday.

I am so sorry for your friend. Remind her that just because this didn't turn out to be the "right" child for her, there is one out there that is meant to be with her.

This is exactly the reason why we went to Russia for our kids... their parental rights were already terminated and there is no way that anyone could ever come back to us to reclaim the children once the adoption was final.

There is a special place in hell for people who play with others' emotions.

I'm hoping they will conduct a paternity test to make sure he is the father of the baby.

I have racked my brain to try to figure out why she did this...I mean..you didn't remember who the dad was till you signed??? Till AFTER you asked my friend what name she wanted on the birth certificate??

I know that there is a reason, and that this baby just may not be the one for her...but this bm allowed her and her husband to get sooooo close this weekend only to yank it away..I just don't get it!

How horrible. I feel so bad for your friend. her heart must be in a million pieces. Good thoughts and prayers that soon she will have a child to love. Sure hope the 19 year old boy takes good care of that innocent baby.

My birthmother was 19 and she gave me up. At 19 that is going to be so difficult to take care of a baby. Sure hope he has complete support of his parents.

I am so very sorry for what happened to your friends--I'm sure it's just heartbreaking to have that darling baby 'taken' from them at the last minute. My prayers go out to them, and when they heal, I know they will find the love of their lives!

My good thoughts also to that sweet, innocent baby. I hope it's life is one full of love.

I'm so sorry for your friend. It is extremely heartbreaking, it actually feels like a loss. This did happen to us the first time around, the birthmom changed her mind. The younger they are, the more likely they are to change their mind (she was 16). We got a call just 12 days after that first trip about our sweet baby boy and he was definitely meant to be with us! Sure didn't feel worth it during that time in between, but it sure does now! His adoption went off without any problems and his birthmom is older than me! I'll say a prayer for her. :grouphug:
