hi everyone, I know these questions are asked all the time but I can’t seem to find an answer specific to my needs. We are first time Disney Cruisers going on a 3 day from Port Canaveral in Feb. Our return flight out of MCO leaves at 5pm. Would you all recommend the DCL transportation that will have us at the airport for hours or a private transfer/Uber, or a rental car parked at the port while we cruise? We’re a family of 4, with kids ages 6 and 5 still in booster seats. We are doing days at WDW before the cruise and plan to take the DCL transportation from Pop Century to the Cruise. If we opt out of DCL transfers what are the recommended options to kill time from 9am to 4pm?

Also does anyone know the pricing of parking at the port?

Thanks any help is appreciated

If you don't leave the ship until 9:00 (the latest you can stay) you'll most likely reach the airport around 10:30ish. I'd allow at least 2 hours pre-flight for check in/TSA (TSA there can be a bear there, often).

You'll have around 3-4 hours and MCO has a lot of shops/restaurants, so there's plenty to look at.

If you feel that you don't want to do that, you can look into a day room at the Hyatt MCO. That will give you a room to rest, pool to use...

Parking Rates
Parking is $17.00 per day (Vehicles & RVs), including day of arrival and day of departure.

Ohh day room! That’s a thing? I’ll definitely check into that. I figured MCO couldn’t be too bad of a wait since we have TSA pre check. Is the Hyatt at the airport?

Round-trip transfers will be $140 each Way ($280 total) for your family. A rental car, even including parking at the terminal, will probably be less. It would also offer you more flexibility both on your day traveling to the port, and on your airport departure day. You can easily rent a car at the car care center by the Magic Kingdom, they will send a vehicle to pick you up on the day of your rental.

Thanks. I think renting a car is a the way to go
