We just returned from a 6 night stay at PBH. We had booked a standard room for $155 entertainment rate, and received a bay view room on the fourth floor over the restaurant area. I'm not sure if we were in a standard or deluxe room; we did have the extra large bathroom with the separate bath and shower which I thought was only in deluxe rooms, but I thought all the deluxes were located near the villa pool. We received a bottle of white wine with our Loews card.

Housekeeping was great! We asked for two extra robes for the kids which we promptly received, and all other little requests (extra shampoo and other minor things) were always taken care of.

We swam at the beach pool, and walked over to HRH pool for one afternoon. It was about a 10 minute walk. They were both fun pools!

We at at Trattoria for breakfast twice, Sal's twice, and grabbed lunch by the beach pool twice. Also ate at Margaritaville, Hard Rock Cafe and NBA. Good food everywhere we went, but had the most fun at Hard Rock Cafe and Margaritaville.

Took the boat to the parks everyday. We had a great time-would be happy to answer any questions about our stay!

Welcome back mouseclick1 :)

Nice to read another great trip review! Sounds like an upgrade to a deluxe room with a bayview, very nice. They arent all located in the villa pool area. I was once in a deluxe that also overlooked the bay.

How were the crowds? The weather? We are headed to the Portofino in 11 days and just cant wait!!! I'm glad you got your loews goodies with the entertainment rate. Thanks for the details.

Oh one more question. Was trattoria offering the buffett as well as menu for breakfast? How was the food?

And I'm curious what the price was too. Thanks.

Thanks for the great report..was there a character dinner when you were there? How about a dive in movie...How was the pool...was it easy to get to,, or did you have a little walk??? Was the boat quick to get to the parks?? How do you compare the PBH and the HRH pool...thanks..amy

JessicaR,
There was almost no one at the parks Monday through Thursday. We used FOTL most of the time only because we could, but didn't really need to. You could walk right on to many rides without FOTL. I remember it was about 5:30 on Thursday, and we wanted to ride the front car of the Hulk. There were only 2 car loads of people ahead of us! The ride operator was asking if anyone wanted to get out of the front car only ride because there was no wait for the other cars! The parks were definitely busier on Friday, but still tolerable. We got up the nerve to ride the front car of Dueling Dragons by Friday, but the front car line was probably almost an hour long, so we passed and rode in a different car. We should have gone for the front car earlier in the week!

Weather was sunny and upper 70s Monday - Wednesday, clouded up and rained on and off Thursday and Friday. The rain wasn't too bad and they still had the Mardi Gras parade, which we were lucky enough to be a part of! We got to ride one of the floats and toss beads and coins to the crowds!

cjck1114 & Jessica,
Trattoria did offer the buffet as well as menu items. The food was pretty standard buffet food - pretty good but nothing outstanding. The price was $15 for adults and 4.95 for kids. They must be pretty lenient with the kids pricing as they charged my 13 year old for the child price without question. I do not know what the age limit is for the kids buffet.

Corvair-
The walk to the pool wasn't too far from us as we were pretty centrally located. It would be quite a hike if you were in the opposite wing of the hotel. Both pools were great! The HRH pool was much larger, and the PBH pool felt more secluded. I only went on the HRH slide which was pretty fast and a lot of fun. My boys went on both and thought the PBH slide was a little better.
DH only went on PBH slide and thought it was slow. If you have the time, I really think it's worth it to check out both pools! We were never at the pool in the evening so I don't know about the dive-in movie. If they had one, they did not advertise it to the guests. We did see anything about a character dinner at the hotel either.

It was about a 5-6 minute boatride to where they dropped you off. We never seemed to wait long to catch a boat to City Walk, but there were some long waits coming back to the hotel.

Hope I covered all your questions! Let me know if you have any more!

Thanks so much for all the extra information :)
