PBH Room requests

As it stands now, we have a Portofino Suite booked 7/18-7/21. I have no idea where these rooms are and what area to request. Also, is it likely I will get upgraded to a Villa Suite with the great tub that the deluxe tub has? Should I consider waiving the upgrade I got to Portofino Suite (from Deluxe) so I am sure to get the fancy tub? It will only be DH and I.

I know my question got a bit lost in there, but I am looking for advice from the experts.

There are 12 portofino parlors in the hotel. My understanding is that they are located throughout the hotel with garden, bay, and pool views. Unfortunately, none have balconies but there are two that have patios. If there is a villa suite available when you check-in they will most likely upgrade you if you ask. I have been upgraded from a deluxe to a portofino suite, from a garden view to a kids suite and a villa suite, and from a portofino suite to a villa suite and a hospitality suite. One thing you might want to try is calling the hotel a few days before you arrive and asking about the availability of villa suites. If they are sold out then you could switch to the deluxe but if there are some available then you might want to keep the porotfino suite and hope for the upgrade. Maybe mention at check-in the fact that you love the deluxe bathroom so much and you are on a romantic getaway. I always call the hotels the night before I arrive and ask about suite availability so that I know exactly what Is available. Hope that helps.

Sort of on topic, we have requested a bay room view for our upcoming August trip. We may get a free upgrade on check in. That means a deluxe room. Unfortunately, the deluxe rooms do not overlook the bay, which we would prefer over the bigger room. So, chances are, we will be declining the upgrade.

There are several deluxe rooms that overlook the bay. Most of them are in the villa wing but several are in the west wing as well. Just request one.
