As a surprise for my husbands Bday, I booked a couple of extra days on our Disney trip. We'll be staying at PBH for two nights before heading over to the WL at WDW.

Universal's website offers minimal info about the hotel and the Loews site seems only marginally better. I guess I'm just used to getting loads of info about a hotel or resort from these boards before going to Disney. So, I admit, I'm spoiled.

Can anyone out there give me some inside info about the PBH? What are the "do-not-miss" things to do? (We only have 2 days so I want 'em to be good!) Where are the good places to eat? We'll be doing both parks as we have APs.

How is transportation to the parks? Is it easier/quicker to walk? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

Looks like we are both going Labor Day weekend! We will be at PBH too! You will love it! I guess you've been to parks since you have AP's but I'll suggest to you Margariville, Mythos in IOA those are my picks for sit down places. A great snack is the out of this word funnel cakes at the port of entery at IOA gotta try it! AS for PBH I hear all the food is good, Mama's DEli, is a hit. It is pricey so be warned. The boats ran smoothly when we were there over the July 4 weekend. It's only a quick 5 minute ride and very, very relaxing. For offsite we order in Flippers Pizza to cut down on $$ eating and it's great. I know the Hotel site does'nt offer you a lot, but I guess it's hard to put a hotel in this class into words and do it justice. You will be in ahhh and you will love every minute and everything about it. Have a great trip maybe i'll see you there.

I guess the best thing to do will be to simply relax and see what happens. We'll just decide what to do when we arrive instead of planning every detail. (I'm already exhausted from the planning of the WDW portion of our trip!)

We'll be there the same time as you and be kidless! Will you have your lime green ribbon on? We'll be on the boat ride together and not even know it! Hope to your ribbon!

Can't find that particular color of ribbon. I'll keep looking though!!

I just noticed that I am officially A "DIS Veteran" Woo-hoo!!

Had to share...:D

Play a little bocce ball, try both the hot/cold jacuzzis near the quiet pool, enjoy the quiet pool...hardly any kids most of the time.

Try Emeril's or Latin Quarter for a great meal, do some dancing in Bob Marley's, have a hurricane on the patio at Pat O'Briens, and shots/volcano nachos at Margaritaville.

Staying at PBH, before going to WL is very dangerous...the PBH is more like the Grand Floridian, the big fluffy beds, the wonderful atmosphere...we love it!

And don't forget: You will have FOTL access for both days. The WDW lines will seem endless after having FOTL.

Sal's has FANTASTIC pizza! My teens couldn't get enough. And the price was very reasonable. One thing we did discover several days into the trip ... if you're going to take the pizza to your room, don't buy your soft drinks at Sal's! Instead, go to the gift shop. The soft drinks were $2 for a regular size bottle at Sal's! Ouch, $8 for coke ... almost as much as the pizza! :-) The gift shop had liter bottles for about a dollar. Have the price for about twice as much coke!
