We've paid for a Queen Garden View room for 4 adults and 1 child for $210/night and got the YouFirst Gold free upgrade to a Deluxe Queen room when we booked. Awesome, right? We're staying Sun, Aug 9 for 5 nights.
We're treating my wife's parents to a week at UO with their only grandchild and there isn't any room in the budget for a second onsite hotel room. We're really hoping for a suite upgrade.
1) Assuming a suite is available at checkin, would we only need to pay the $50/night to upgrade?
I recall being offered a suite at checkin back in June 2007, but to qualify for the $50/night upgrade we had to pay to upgrade to another category of room.
2) Is it common practice to have to upgrade to another room category to qualify for the suite upgrade?
We had booked a Bay View room @ $269/night for 2 adults and were told we'd have to pay $35 to upgrade to a Deluxe Room and then $50 to upgrade to a suite. We declined, but in the end we were upgraded to a Deluxe Bay View room with Club access for free. It was very nice of them. It was a short 2 night trip, so I'm sure that had something to do with it.
3) If a suite isn't available the day we checkin for the length of our stay, has anyone asked to be upgraded and moved later in their trip? We checkin on Sunday, so we'd glady move on Monday or Tuesday morning if a suite became available.
Thanks guys for reading and your replies. Have a great weekend!
