I would like to make a purchase for an item that is about $100, however I only have $40 funded paypal. I have had my account for over 10 years and I'm not really sure how I set it up, and I have always only used funded money. How do I do this? I'm assuming I have it tied to my bank account, but is it checking or savings? (I have a savings account with only $5 in it and I'm afraid that is the one it is linked to..)

Can I set it up to have the extra put on a CC?

Thanks!

Yes. Sign into your account and when you get to the payment page it will automatically put in the account you have it set up with but if you look somewhere on that page it lets you change the payment method.

Yeah, just go to pay for your item like you normally would. It'll give you the option to pay with just a CC, or split it between what you have in your paypal account and CC. There's also a way for you to link it to your bank account and have the money transfered out, but that takes way longer for the person to recieve the money. And much more of a hassle.

I'm buying a piece of gym equipment that my son really wants from someone on a message board for about 1/5 of what it was new.

She has been very nice and has given me all her info and phone# so I'm pretty sure that the transaction will be fine.

If for some reason it is not could I dispute it through my CC or would I need to go through paypal? Would paypal be any help, or only if it is an ebay transaction?
