i had a person request a paypal invoice rather than sending to friend/family for reimbursement for transferring points. Anyone familiar with this? Problems?
Ever had money put in your bank account then told there was a problem?I've never rented points, but I've used Paypal often to sell/buy things from informal Facebook groups. I think it's always important to use Paypal goods/services instead of the friends/family option because both the seller and buyer receive protection from Paypal.
That protects THEM... if they send it to friend or family, they have no protection and you could renig. If i was on the receiving end.. i would have no problem with this.. i have done it many many times.. Worse case scenario, you have to give the money back... but you still have your points and can sell them to someone else.i had a person request a paypal invoice rather than sending to friend/family for reimbursement for transferring points. But it's dishonest to do so in this situation.we used paypal to rent and a few times and never had a problem with them doing friends or family. i understand people hesitating not to though.
not really. everyone is my friend. But it's dishonest to do so in this situation.
I'm sure you don't really believe that. It's actually a double whammy in this situation, at least for those who now know differently. It's outside of paypal's policy to use their services for timeshare and it's lying to pay for goods or services effectively saying it's a gift to family friends.not really. everyone is my friend.
The "friends and family" option requires an actual cash transfer and foregos any sort of buyer protection. Since paypal prohibits timeshare transactions either way, the friends and family option is probably the most appropriate.I'm sure you don't really believe that. I accept personal checks. I rent far enough in advance that I'll know if there's a problem in time to rent to someone else. For those who do not accept Paypal -- what are you using for accepting payment? mailed Cashier check?
I use a rental agreement. While I am sure there are loop holes since I am not a lawyer - I do feel it offers me some protection and the renter some protection.
