PayPal and Chase Bank Question

Hi.
Can anyone please tell me if someone makes a deposit into my paypal or Chase Bank account, does it show immediately?
I want to rent something to someone and it is about a month away and I will require full payment. I would like to be on the phone with the person for their own worries, while they deposit the money into my account, once they deposit, I told them I will call and do what I am suppose to do while they are on the phone with me but obviously won't do this until I see the money is deposited.
Does this make sense. I wanted to be vague with the renting since didn't want to break any rules.

Not sure about Chase, but with paypal if they do a payment it usually shows up within a few minutes. Only thing that holds it up is if they use an echeck (I have only had one person ever do that) then you get a notice that they paid you money but it has to clear like a regular check.

You would be able to see a pending transaction with Chase almost immediately, yes... However (isn't there always a but?)

I believe chase has recently changed their rules that only an account holder can deposit cash into their account. I have family living abroad and used to deposit cash in exchange for mailing me certain goodies, but I can no longer do this. I have to write them a check and deposit it.

In your case, you would have to trust that the person writing the check is writing a good check and not one that will bounce.

I would have them deposit it to the Paypal and then you can trans to your chase acct.

When I receive payments through paypal they always show up immediately.
