I was wondering if you can use your room key as a debit card.
When checking in can you put a certain amount of money on the card and they keep a balance for you during the whole trip.

Please let me know if you can,and any other kind of options they offer other than using a credit card.

yes, you can put down cash/travelers checks down on your key to the world card... if you needed to add more, or wanted to switch forms of payment during the cruise, you can go to the guest services desk on the ship.

They have no problems taking your money and will work whatever fashion you want with whatever credit/debit cards you want to accommodate you! Be advised that they will just "charge" your account though when it hits a few hundred dollars so make sure you have the right CC or debit card on it if your balance gets high!

When you fill out your documents, don't put any credit card/debit card number on them, just check the spot for cash account. This will give you an automatic $200 credit. Then, when you get on the ship, you can add as much cash/traveler's checks to your account as you want. If you spend all that is in the account and the $200 credit limit, they will suspend spending on all the keys on that account until you pay the $200 limit. They'll give you a letter describing it all when you check in.

This is what I did on our cruise and it worked out great. I ended up not spending it all and got about $75 back the day of debarkation. I got up at 5:45am and there was already someone in line ahead of me.

They returned my balance of $70something in cash, but as with all things Disney that may change at any time or there may be other restrictions, like a maximum amoutn in cash they'll return, etc.

I wanted to pay with traveler's checks, but I did put down a credit card. I kept our balance down all week, and then on the last day, I checked my balance right before dinner and it was under $100 so I decided to wait until after dinner to finish paying off my account because I wanted to buy a couple of pictures. When I left Shutters I went to the front desk and they had already billed my credit card! I don't know how they did it that fast, but some how they did.

It was not big deal, but I just wanted to mention it in case you put down a credit card and plan to pay with cash/checks also. On the last night they zero out your account that evening.
