I know that this question has been addressed before but I can not find any of the posts. I booked a room only using the late summer discount on my Disney Visa. I want to buy gift cards to pay off the trip. Am I able to pay off my balance using gift cards or does the balance have to be paid off with the Disney Visa? Thank you!

Yes, if you ask when you first arrive, your gift cards can be applied towards your room balance.

If you forget to do so, just make sure you have the gift cards applied to your account at least a day before you check-out.

I think you mean to pay off what you put on your card versus what was charged to the room... if so, then No. Chase only accepts cash payment (EFT from checking or savings) or check or money order to pay off the card, and doesn't take Gift Cards. If you have a remaining balance due to dianey.. yes you can pay that off with Disney Gift Cards (not merchandise credits though).

Maybe i worded it wrong!! I will try to explain better...I booked a room only using the visa offer for late summer discount. I have a $500 balance. Do I have to use my disney visa to pay the balance at the hotel to get the discount or can I use gift cards?

Thanks!!! I can also use gift cards to pay off any charges I accrued to my room, right? I just realized that BJ's discounts their gift cards and I wanted to buy a bunch!

Yup, that works, too. Anything that gets charged back to your room account can be paid off with gift cards.

If your ressie is a package and has to be paid off before arrival, you can even call in Disney gift cards for payments, either all at once or over time. If you use Gift cards, make sure you save them. If your trip is cancelled or you switch to another resort etc. they will credit the money from the room you paid on back to the cards, so you don't wants to destroy them.

OP has a room-only which can't be paid off ahead of time.

OP, if you are charging a lot back to your room account, stop by the front desk to have your gift cards applied. Your credit card will get charged if you reach your resort room credit limit - it's best to keep your room balance low by applying your gift cards whenever you have time.

You CAN pay off a room-only reservation in advance, but there's little reason to do so. You have to call in to pay it off; you can't do it online.

Actually, I have experienced a pretty good reason for paying it off before I arrive. We had a RO at WL one year, standard room. I didn't pay it off before arriving (usually do). They upgraded us (didn't request it) and were like, pixie Dust! Unfortunately, the computer system charged us for the upgrade and if I hadn't known exactly how muc I still owed, I wouldn't have noticed. They had already charged my card and it took 3 days and a few trips to guest services to get my money back.
