Paying with Disney Credit Card

Does anyone know if you make payments to DFTW with your Disney credit card it gets the 0% interest? I made a payment last month and my statement just closed but I just realized that it won't show up until the next statement since that's when the interest would get charged. It shows up on the statement as "reservations WDW" which makes me think it will I just would feel better if someone had first hand knowledge.

I'm not certain if you can at 0% interest. I know when I put my down payment down on DVC, they didn't charge me interest on it. I don't know about the Disney wedding though. That is something you will probably want to ask your planner.

I made my downpayment using the Disney card, but we then turned around and paid the whole thing off. We've been saving for this wedding for a terribly long time though, so that's why we had the money (we'd pay it all in cash, except why do that when you can get the points?). I don't know your situation--and so maybe you need the interest free. If it's the second case--ask your planner.

My gut is telling me that they won't allow you to do it interest-free though. I think only certain Disney purchases qualify for the 6-month interest free stuff (I believe those purchases are the downpayment on DVC ownership, and Disney vacations booked through Disney).

I feel like if I call I won't get a definitive answer. I have been making payments for awhile cause I as well wanted points/miles and paying in full when it hits my account but for the final payment I don't think we will have enough to pay it all off so I would love the interest fee for 6 months. The fact that it shows up on the statement as reservations WDW is making me think it will qualify but not certain

I'm pretty sure Disney would give you an honest answer to that question if you called your planner. It's money-related, and they want your money. Just be very specific about the question when you call, and repeat what they say back to you to make sure that they understand.

I understand feeling like they won't give you an "honest" answer though. I don't feel like Disney has ever lied to me...but I sometimes feel like they've withheld important information until we get to a point of, when it's finally addressed, it something REALLY important that they treat as an afterthought. That's if I don't ask a specific question though. The more specific your question, the more honest an answer you'll get.

"Hi Disney. I want to make my last big payment on my Disney credit card. I know some purchases are interest-free on the Disney card for six months. If I make my last $3,000 payment on my Disney credit card, will it be interest-free for six months?"

I really don't think they'd skirt the question.

We used Disney card to charge our whole wedding. And we were not able to pay straight away our last charge , so we had balance for 2 months and interest. It was not big, but we definitely payed interest.

BTW, Tashka...I have been looking everywhere for your pictures (if you posted them and wanted people to see them). Your little avatar has what appears to be this tremendously gorgeous castle picture with you in a wedding dress. It appears to be the epitome of Disney wedding gorgeousness.

Do you have pictures some place, and don't mind people seeing them?

I still recommend paying wedding with Disney card because were able to pay our private cruise for wedding party just with points!

Another question though...how did Misty Miotto get some of those park shots? The night shots of you in front of the castle with the snow look before (or after) hours. I thought only the Disney photographers could do those photos? If it's after-hours before you guys left from a private party in the evening, I could see that. Or maybe early in the morning before your guests arrived. So cool, though!

I know it's been a while--but congratulations! That's the kind of wedding I could only dream of affording! It's beautiful!!!!

I didn't think that Disney would purposefully withhold the information but figured Disney wouldn't be the people to answer but Chase would have to answer since they hold the card.

Thanks Tatiana for confirming for me. I don't have the upgraded card so I only get the 1 pt per $1 which at that point my air mileage card is better. Trying to wheel and deal everywhere possible.

Tiffiny, she had a Magic Kingdom wedding - it's the only time you can bring in an outside photographer. So they were in there for an early morning wedding. (Hope I'm not stepping on any shoes, just thought I'd reply, since I remember)
