Paying with a check

I have a silly question but there has to be someone out there that can help. You guys know everything. I know when you check-in that you can leave your cc but at the end of the trip can we pay by check. Also does anyone know how long does the check take to clear. I think we are taking enough money but just in case. My husband gets paid the direct deposit on the 11th and we leave the 10th. I just hate the thought of using are cc I prefer to pay cash and not worry about it anymore. Any past experiences will help.

When we stayed at the Dolphin I called ahead of time to check on that. They said they could not take a check for the room. I brought traveler's checks rather than put it on a credit card. That worked out fine.

It has been a few years back, but we paid by check at the CBR. When we checked in, we paid the entire amount by check and left a CC for additional charges. We didn't have any problem at all, but like I said, this was several years ago. The policy may have changed. The last couple of times we have gone to Disney, we've had packages that have to be paid in full before you arrive, so the check thing hasn't come up. Good luck, you could always call your resort directly to see what the policy is.....Susan

We paid with a check on several of our trips. Once at Dixie Landings and several times at the All Star Sports. Never had a problem.

Since you have a checking account, you should check with your bank to see if they offer a check card. It's treated like a credit card, but debits your checking account. Most banks don't charge fees for their use.

I paid by check at *** when we stayed for A night and I believe they cleared the check electronically meaning they processed it right then. I could be wrong but that is what I recalled.

I believe this is correct.... we were at CBR Sept 2001 and I paid via personal check at check out. I did not transfer the money from our savings over before giving them the check because honestly, I didn't think about it. I figured I had at least a day. At first it would not go through so I called my bank, transferred the funds and then it was no problem.
