Paying Towards Your Account on Board?

I know everything on board gets charged to your KTTW card. We'll be putting most things on our cc (to leave $$ at home), but for souvenirs we're bringing Disney Dollars and traveler's checks. Do I have to use the cc to pay our account in full, or can I pay part of it with traveler's checks? If we can pay part with the t.c.'s, can I do it at the end of each day, or do you have to wait 'til the end of the cruise?

I usually put a chunk of cash down. When it gets closer to the end of the cruise, I check on my balance, and if I run over the cash, then i leave it on the credit card so i don't have to stand in line and clear up my account.

are they good about giving you your disney dollars, cash, etc back if you dont spend it all?

I went to Guest Services every other day and paid off our account with Traveler's Checks, and usually put down an extra hundred or so dollars. I kept track of our balance so it would come as close to -0- at the end of the cruise...but bought some last minute pix at Shutters the night before cruise was over...the $20 or so we spent automatically was charged to our credit card.
