I seem to remember people talking about actually putting money onto their account a little at a time before they had actually sailed. Can you still do this? If so, how does it get done? I booked with a TA. Thanks

You sure can. You can give you ask you TA how they would handle it. The way we do it, is we given our TA our debit card number and tell her how much we want to apply to our stateroom account. She notifies DCL and the transfer is made. Most likely the TA can take cash from you and send DCL a check. You may even be able to call DCL directly and use a credit or debit card, but I'm not sure about that if you've gone through a TA.

It is a nice feeling to know you have money on your account when you get on board.

You can go to DCL directly. There is a form you can download and fax to them with the in as well

We put enough shipboard credit to pay for all of our excursions, etc. It took a little bit of time because it seems that they are set up to take 200.00 or less. Ours was more than that all at once. But, I am glad we did it! When we show up next week we will be good to go!

Thanks everyone for the info. Fairygodmother, I went to DCL's site but can't seem to find the area to download the form to fax. Could you please tell me what to go under? Thanks

If you put too much in your account I assume they will refund it to you?

?

Why would you want to do this? You have to give them a credit card when you check in and everything is billed to this card. Why bother sending Disney the money ahead of time?

I prefer ending my vacation with NO credit card bills. I also have an unreasonable paranoia that something will "happen" to our cards rendering them useless (I have heard horror stories of credit card companies locking up cards for suspicious charging). I just feel better knowing that it is all taken care of up front.

If you want to order shipboard credits, you can do so by calling 1-800-601-8455. :D

Before we left, I called each credit card company and advised them that we would be vacationing so that they didn't question the charges. Told them the dates and locations and they noted it on my file.
