Paying "Out of Pocket" for Dinner

Beaches & Cream, Plaza, and some of the Disney Springs restaurants have reasonable prices and ok food.

With respect to paying out of pocket for signatures instead of table service, I think it depends on where you go/what you get. We are going to a signature or two on our next trip and will probably use our dining plan credits. For example, we are going to Yachtsman and our son will almost certainly order a steak that is $50+, and once you throw in dessert and a drink it is going to cost over $60 for his meal. Our daughter will likely get the lobster, which is $62 or so. For those prices I think using 2 credits is ok. On the other hand, if you have folks that are going to order the $30 chicken then yeah, not a good use of credits. And there are lots of TS restaurants where you probably aren't going to spend $39 on a meal.
