Paying off Room Balance

I have a question because I've never run across this before w/ CRO. I just called to pay the balance on our room reservations. (AP rate) It is due 30 days prior to arrival per every CM I've talked to & per paperwork I've rec'd.

The CM I talk to tells me she can't charge the balance & I would need to pay it upon arrival. I kept telling her I wanted to pay it now and she told me the only option was for her to send a note to accounting telling them that I want to do this & for me to call back in 3-5 business days to double check that it's been done. This makes me uncomfortable.

I don't get why if they charged my deposits they can't take a payment on the reservations now?

Ideas, Insight? I've always been able to do this before.
 
That is very odd -- because my DW and I did this very thing for our Nov. trip. I charged the balance to my AMEX card and the charge just appeared today. I would call back and get another CM. If you are told the same thing, ask to speak to a supervisor or manager.
 
Ack, ok I just got off of the phone w/ a supervisor. He said because of the way my reservations are set up that it has to be done this way. (who knows) So, he took the card info & is sending it to acctg, I'm hoping for the best. He said to call back on Tues.

I charged towards my balance today. This was after I charged the initial deposit, mailed them a check and then today paid half of the remaining balance on my credit card. It was no problem and our WDW summer vacation was paid off in monthly increments on my charge card so there was a zero balance before we arrived. Good Luck!!!
 

Wow that's really weird because I called to do the same thing and I had no problems. The balance was supposed to be due at check in but I wanted to get it out of the way. BTW mine was an AP rate too.

I hope it gets straightened out, maybe you should call back again.
 
The same thing just happened to me with a reservation I made on-line. I paid the deposit by credit card when I made the reservation. I called back today to go ahead and pay off the balance with my credit card. I wanted to have it all taken care of when we arrive. The CM I spoke with said I couldn't do that and that I had to pay it off when I arrived. I thought it seemed really odd.
 
I think they got confused because normally when they send your confirmation in the mail, you put your credit card information or attach a check and mail it in by the due date. Most people don't call to pay it off and just pay when they arrive. I pay cash so I make a copy of the bottom of my confirmation and then I send that in every month until it's paid off. I am so happy because I just sent in my very last payment for our YC vacation Nov. 9th to the 13th.....YIPPEE:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
