Really cheesed, have to pay my balance next month and had a car accident last week where someone went into the back of me. Have been off work since with whiplash and cant drive, so hence I am not earning money.

Although I can claim the salary back I wont get it next month. Contacted who I booked holiday with and said I will be short by £1000 and would be able to pay it 2 weeks later than due date, fingers crossed they said it should be ok:cool1:

Who did you book with?

We had to delay payment a few years back with virgin holidays and they were fine with it

I had an accident last july, a lorry pusched us off the road and wrote our car off and we are still trying to get money back from them!

Booked through disneyworld.co.uk (Open Ride) - which is Virgin anyway, just a different name:lmao:

What terrible bad luck! :sad2:

Wishing you a speedy recovery and hoping your holiday gets paid with no problems!

not good timing. Hope you sort your holiday payment out and by the time it comes around this will be little more than a bad memory.

Thanks everyone - it is crazy how someone else causing the accident means I have to pay out - not right!:confused3

I really symathise with you OP. My DH had an accident in April - someone went into the back of him too. He did lose a few days pay before the SSP kicked in as his company does the 3 days waiting thing. We are still waiting for the money back for the loss of earnings. I don't work and we have phoned the 3rd party insurer and our solicitor till I'm blue in the face telling them how much we need that money back.

If you could arrange to borrow the money to pay for your holiday then I would - do not rely on getting it back.

My DH has only just started having physio for his whiplash injury - the solicitiors etc seem to move at their own pace! :rolleyes1

I hope that you do get sorted out, and recover well

Claire :)

I NEVER pay VH on time, my money is better off in my account than theirs. TBH, they are quite flexible and the last thing they want to do is cancel your holiday. My advice is to speak to them and tell them it will be slightly delayed.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and hopefully the TA will be accommondating with your late payment request.

Wishing you a speedy recovery from the accident!

I'll keep my fingers crossed the company are good about the small delay in paying, I hope they can be understanding in the circumstances.

If the worst came to the worst, could you not put the remaining £1000 on a credit card which should then give you an extra months to pay it if you time it right :confused3

Paid my balance with Disney.co.uk on 8th June by Virgin credit card, they took the money out of my account today, almost 6 weeks later and I get 2,544 Virgin airmiles:banana:
