Paying for room but not staying in it?

Long story short - we're going to Disney for a week in late May and I can only fit Universal in during the middle of our stay. If I get a room for one night just for FOTL privileges but don't stay in the room, how does check-out work the next day? Do I have to physically check-out at the front desk? Thanks!

They slide the bill under your door in the middle of the night though. Then you can just leave in the morning if everything is correct.

When you check in, tell the TM you are not using the room to stay in, only using the hotel for the fotl perk.

Ask them for a phone number you can call to use to check out and review the bill the next day.

Why not stay in the room? Your kids might like getting away (from Disney) for a night and experiencing a new pool, new restaurants, etc.

I agree, I think it would be fun to spend one night there to experience something different since you'll be going and paying for it anyway...you could take the least amount of essentials.

We always enjoy incorporating a "little" one or two night trip within our big trips and experiencing something different. :yay:

We did this and just left. I rented a house as we had 9 in our group including my mom, niece (3 at the time), my sister and BIL. We got the room for one night for FOTL for me, my two teens and my sister's two teens for two days. My mom, sister, BIL and niece really weren't interested in riding the bigger rides. They mostly stayed in the kiddie areas. For the few things they wanted to do we got there for park opening and I took my niece to the kiddie area while they did Spiderman, Jurrasic Park, Mummy, and Men in Black. The other things they just stood in line for. It was also nice for them to take my niece back in the middle of the day for a nap (I think BIL and my mom liked it too).

I agree. You might as well enjoy the place if you're paying for it. The parks are an easy walk away, unless you have toddlers. When you leave your room in the am, they'll hold your bags in a supervised luggage room until you return from the parks.
Some nights they have dive in movies which my kids love. Dh and I can relax while the kids swim and watch the movie.
We love the whole atmosphere. :cloud9:

why dont you just buy the express pass instead or renting a room for the night?

The Express Pass only allows you to go through the express line once for one day. Room key gives you unlimited express access for two days (day you check in and the day you check out). My kids love to ride everything more than once. Also, if you have 4-5 people it can be less expensive to rent the room than to buy the express pass.

I totally agree. We do everything again and again and again. Good thing my kids are plenty old enough to do MIB on their own. I can only take it once per trip. lol!
In the past we've done Hulk 4x in a row, Simpsons 3x and Popeye & Bluto 4x, Hey if you're already soaked, might as well ride some more! :thumbsup2

It would be a huge disappointment to only do each ride once. That room key is so worth it!

ok, that makes sense. But I can tell you that 4 of us got the express pass & not one person ever marked it....we went on every ride again & again. I guess we got lucky
