Paying for ddp

Am I correct that you have to pay by cc when you add ddp to your reservation? If so, what happens if you have to cancel your trip for some reason?

Only if you are within your 45 day payment timeframe or if you are staying on a DVC points reservation.

For a regular reservation more than 45 days out, it is just part of your standard $200 package deposit that you pay, and the balance of your whole package is due at 45 days.

Yes - you have to put the ddp on your credit card at the time you tell your reservation cm. When I booked our fall break trip a few weeks ago, they asked if I wanted it. I told them yes - unofficially. You can still make your ADRs and you can wait until 3 days prior to your trip to call Disney and let them know you will be using the dining plan.

We are staying on DVC points.
