Paying for DDP up front?

They don't know the difference. If your renter is willing to give you the card number and details, this is probably the easiest option for now. I would suggest as part of the rental contract, also obtaining a written authorization to use the card for dining booking purposes. This is not unlike travel agents who book travel using the client billing info.

I thought the same thing. In fact I have to call back in a few days to add and pay for the DDP for my other brother and thought out of convenience I would just put my husband on the phone. How would they no the difference??? I have all the info that they need.

Go buy a prepaid Visa card for the amount that will cover your dining plan and give that number to the member.

Great suggestion about having something in writing from the renter that authorizes you to use the card.

I think if I was to every rent (and I don't plan on it) it would be added to the rental price up front, and be non-refundable--once added, the renters are stuck with the plan. I don't think I would want to have to worry about how to refund money if they wanted to cancel it out.
