Just found out you can do this in advance with virgin, for £32. Saves worry about going over the weight limit.

Just wondered if anyone has done this before, and how easy it is to arrange?

You can do it online before you go, or at the airport (if they still have available space) It's cheaper to book in advance. We only need to book for the journey home........for all of the Bath & Body Works stuff I buy!!!!

Lol, that's what I'm thinking... Booking it for the way home! So can I book for my return trip before I leave England? Not sure ill have time to access a pc whilst I'm there...

yes we did it in advance in September. Again just for the way home.

Went out with 2 bags weighing 18kg each and came back with 3 all at 25kg!! They allow 2kgs extra per bag on the way home. One of ours was 26kg and we had to take out 1 kg! We had quite a lot of hand luggage as well....

We shopped A LOT this time!:rotfl:

Sounds perfect, just what we'll be doing next year I think. So you just booked the extra case online... Anywhere in particular? Is it done when you access your flight?

yes, its under 'manage your booking' on VA site.
Next time I think we'll do 2 extra!:)

Sounds like a plan! Wife and I were thinking one extra between the two of us for the return journey but I know how well she can shop.... (Well, both of us actually!)

Oh I don't know if knowing this BEFORE we travel is a good idea :lmao: I can do some serious shopping in the US but now that I have DS I fear I'll be worse than ever lol! Hmm, maybe pre booking a bag is a good idea! Limit myself to one extra bag!
Actually, slightly OT question! Does anyone know if a lap infant has any sort of baggage allowance? He'll probably have more stuff to bring than I will! lol!

What airline are you going with? If virgin then they get a suitcase up to 23kg, 6 kg hand luggage and can take a pushchair or car seat

We travelled last year with twins on laps and that was luggage allowance

WOW! Thats WAY more than I had thought it could be! Great news :) Hope Virgin haven't changed their baggage allowance ;) Thank you :goodvibes

Oh I'll totally fill it and probably more! I plan on buying lots and lots of cool clothes for DS - and several nice pairs of shoes for yours truly lol

Me too, love shopping out there! I'm size 13 in trainers so a couple of pairs really takes up some space! :(

But they're SO much cheaper out there so its totally worth it ;) I can't wait to buy DS his first pair of Converse! Oh I am so glad I'm saving really hard right now, I can envision a massive shopping spree! I'll have to sen DH back to the villa with DS and just leave me at the shops haha!

Great idea!! You're right about the price... And I love all the shops. Not just in Disney but in the malls too!

Oh me too! I could wander for hours if my wallet allowed it :lmao: Memo to self: must save harder lol!

We pre-booked an extra bag for the way home with Virgin. Did it on the 'manage my booking' bit of the website & it worked fine.

2 bags going out, and 3 back. Filled them all but they were still well under the 23kg weight limit.

Have to say, didn't think the outlet malls were much of a bargain this time, prices much the same as at home for Crocs & Converse, though we did find some 'clearance' bargains to bring home!

Have fun!!

We also booked an extra suitcase before we left for the return flight. No hassle whatsoever just took the paperwork with me and everything went smoothly! :thumbsup2

we have years like that...we just find nothing that we want. This year (sept) was a particularly productive (expensive) year:) I went mad on bringing home quite a lot of cake making stuff from Walmart plus a fair few boxes of cake mixes and brownie mixes..not sure why but it seemed a good idea at the time:rotfl: I normally always make my own cakes. DH spend a fair few bucks on some model at KSC (I am not talking the Cindy Crawford sort of model I hasten to add) plus far too much money on Keepsake Models from Hallmark in the Mall of Millenia. He also spent in Timberland and got some trainers from one of the stores in Premium Outlets. I got a load of yankee candles, costmetics, bags from Kipling (yes plural!! I LOVE bags). Oh and nearly all the snack credits were used to bring home Goofy Candy stuff...that alone weighed a lot...Got a load of other bits and pieces as well...:goodvibes

Other years we comeback with hardly a thing...
