Paying for a resale using a CC

I am buying dvc through TSS and I was wondering if there is any way to pay the final balance using a credit card. I have the cash to pay for the balance but it would be nice to get the points in my cc first.

I am buying a DVC through TSS and they are using First American Title this time instead of ***. First American actually emailed me a form for credit card payment of my deposit. This was automatically part of the contract package. So First American has the capability of accepting CC. I doubt they would take a CC for the balance as the transaction fee would be too high. But at least you can get the points for the deposit. I think they told me that to use First American it has to be 100 or more points and cannot be a foreign seller.

We purchased through TSS and used First American Title, actually sent the paperwork in yesterday for closing. We too used our CC for the deposit but it wasn't an option for the remaining balance, the paperwork said it had to be a cashiers check.

Some title companies will do it, but require you to pay the 3% cc fee, which for me usually outweighs the cash back or points. The one company I am going through for a recent contract required a minimum of $3k and up to $10k deposit on the contract, no additional fee. Typically the remaining due at closing is a certified check.

I did actually send a CC for the deposit, but now that I think of it, they haven't charged me yet. Should I be worried that my deal got lost in the shuffle and I have been waiting on ROFR for no reason?

It depends on the broker. We used DVC Magic Resales. We could have paid the deposit by CC, but there was a merchant fee of 3.5%. That more than offset what we would have gained in points. We used First Reliable Transfer for closing and paying with a CC for closing was not an option.

It took a while for the deposit charge to go through for us, over a week and a half, I don't remember exactly how low it took but I remember thinking wow they are just charging it. I would email your broker to make sure nothing is wrong.

Your dealer must do things differently than ours do. If you try and use a credit card to pay, they will charge you at least 2% or more to cover their merchant fee. If they didn't, using the CC would be great as long as you pay it off in a month.
As I noted, our broker had a 3.5% fee added if you paid by CC, so it didn't make sense to pay that way.

I sent my deposit check in to TSS and it was received on 2/18, ROFR is supposed to be decided by 3/6 approx, using ***, my check just cleared my bank today, so almost 2 weeks from them receiving it.

A few years ago I bought a small (50 points $3,000) contract, I increased my deposit to half the selling price and put that on the credit card. The rest I paid by cashier's check. Granted it was a small amount and was probably overlooked by people buying much larger contracts and leaving deposits that might have been
about the same as mine, but it worked for me.

TTS didn't allow a cc for us without paying a fee for the deposit. the balance had to be a cashiers check. disney is the only one i know that you can use your cc on the entire purchase
