Paying direct to WDTC instead of Agency???

On the confirmation copy our travel agent gave us (after we paid the room deposit), there is an address at the bottom for Walt Disney Travel Co. saying that is where payments go. Of course they had faxed the info to the agency, not to us, so I'm sure it goes on all the confirmation copies. The local agency has merged with one out west and phone calls go there now. It makes me a little nervous. I know the rooms are booked and we have our plane tickets. But has anyone ever paid directly to Disney instead of paying through the agency? I was thinking of writing to WDTC and expressing my concern. I did call them to see if I could find anything out about our reservations and they said I had to contact the agency. Let's just say I'm a little nervous about the way the business is being run right now!!! Next time will be different you can be sure.

That's normal, particularly when time is short before your trip. Don't worry. In fact, if anything your money is safer with WDTC than with an agency you are concerned about!

I had no idea that I could pay direct. Our trip isn't til November but we were going to pay it even before the 45 days out from departure. I just assumed since WDTC wouldn't tell me anything, that I couldn't pay direct to them either. I felt like I was doing something sneaky!!! We intended to pay by credit card anyway, just in case. Boy, this one has been a learning experience for sure. Never had so much to worry about on any previous trips - dating all the way back to 1982 and 7 in between then and now. Good grief. If I didn't love Disney as much as I do, I'd have given up!! Thanks again.
