Pay for Luau with Two Different Cards?

Going with friends to do the luau at the Poly and want to make one reservation with two different cards. We do not have a dining plan, so we have to pre-pay. I want to make one reservation with our friends so we can sit together for sure, but not have to have one of us reimburse the other.

The first CM said we could do that and started the process to do a partial payment charge on my friend's card, but I had mixed up two numbers and couldn't complete the transaction. The second CM said we could NOT do that.

Anyone have experience?

Sounds like the least hassle is one friend cut the other friend a check...done!
