Hi Guys

Can you help me with a couple of questions, both my daughter and I have pay as you go phones which are Tri Band, both are Vodaphone, according to the web site you can use them in America, but last year we could not get them to work at all. Do we need to do something over here first to get them activated to use in Florida:

1. to phone each other while we are over there, just so she can phone me to meet up after she has stood in a queue for an hour or so,on rides I dont like, I could do some shopping or get a coffee.

2. to phone home to the UK.

I emailed my sister while I was there last year and she got in touch with Vodaphone with all our details and they could see no reason why they would not work, any ideas.

Thanks

Hi Sue

You should contact your service provider and ask them to turn on your international roaming facility.
We have used Vodafone, o2 and Orange PAYG phones in Florida no problems whatsoever.

BE VERY CAREFUL of calling home from your mobile.. it is incredibly expensive.

You would be much better getting a calling card and using that. Also calling eachother is pretty expensive too!! as it obviously goes back to the Uk, and then back to the USA - better to send texts if you must use it - unless you have money to burn!

we have walkie talkies which we use in the parks..
