I mailed out pin packages last night.
One package contained five TDS pins (Pres Day and V-Day) I sold at cost. Insured amt $25.
One package contained one WDW pin. Insured amt $13.
Hhhhmmmmm.
Which would you rather have:
two WDW pins, or five TDS pins?

I did not find the Millenium or 100 Years of Dreams pin sets appealing. So, speaking in the past tense, I probably would have preferred the WDW (or any park) pin.

However, the lastest DS pins are another story. While there are still pins adding to "sets" within the releases, there are other completely stand-alone pins. Probably the two most obvious are the Valentine's Day and the Presidents' Day. I thought these two pins were comparable in quality -- and superior in value :smooth: -- to many Park moderate LEs. If the DS pins continue at this caliber, my answer to your question would swing the other way.

For my own collection, I don't decided to keep pins based on edition size. I am much more driven by the theme and composition of the pin. However, edition size is important in estimating the value of a pin, and thereby its tradability. I do buy pins as traders (don't we all? ), so that I may trade for something I want. Therefore, I find the current situation at the DS somewhat aggravating: Are these truly "rack" pins, or will they not be restocked? If this is a one-supply deal, there must be some definite limit to the edition. If so, what is it? Even if it's 20,000, I'd like to know. Obtaining accurate information on this point, would also affect my answer to Barb's question.
